EMG ACTIVE PICKUP PROBLEM
Ok, I installed an EMG 81 in the bridge of my ibanez rg2ex1 and an emg 60 in the neck back in march 08.
Now it seems the tone knob does not work because when i play, it sounds lik the tone knob is off.
Now i put a brand new duracell battery in it and still no tone.
i'm wondering if there is a way to test if the pickup is bad.
Also, I checked the wiring and all is well
I cant figure it out to save my life...

ok, I had a similar dilemma when i put in my EMG 81. And where the wiring can appear to all good. Sometimes in the soldering work can have a bad connection. Something like a bubble in the metal can prevent an actualy connect. At least when i took it to the shop, they said I did it right, but that was why mine didn't end up working right. Try to make sure the solder job is good.

You might get more direct help if this was in the proper forum: Gear & Recording - Anyways, I would say your problem lies in either faulty wiring or a faulty tone pot. Check your solder joints and use a multimeter to test continuity.
