I voted Eb, but these days I'm in a band who play in 7 string B. So maybe that means standard, but given a choice I think I'd take that down half a step and go A#.

Standard tuning on one guitar and B tuning on my other. But i voted for other since i like the way B tuning sounds more than standard.

It depends, since I play different kinds of metal, the tuning changes. However, I like D standard but in my band we play drop C tuning.

Standard D in my Jackson. Isn't that a whole step down? And Standard E on my Stratocaster and acoustic.

Standard. Heaviness is in the riffs themselves, not the tuning.

Not really, something played in E would sound heavier played in B or A.

D is the greatest. Plenty of punchy low end but you can still hit those screaming highs like you would on a 22-fret guitar in E-standard. Not just cause a lot of my fav. bands use them, I really like the sound of D, it's become my own standard now. I occasionally go to Eb but very rarely.
I use drop-C(only for 1 Arsis song and 2 or 3 Bathory songs), drop-A(for Nile), and C# only sparingly. I don't like regular B or C, it just feels too slushy, not tight enough(and though string guage, pickups, and EQ have a lot to do with that, I just don't like insanely low notes, I prefer tighter mid-low sounds). Explains why D is perfect for me.

D is my standard to. It just seems perfect. Punchier than standard but not sludgy like B or A
A lot of mainstream musicians now days are starting to tune half a step down. Just so they dont sound like everyone else

B standard. Everyone says "it's too muddy!" But that is for the pickups, string gague and EQ to decide. I love the tunning. It can go from being crushing and brutal like Devourment and Wormed, to thrashy and catchy like Frightmare, Impaled and Engorged, to grindcore ish like Machetazo, and Gruesome Stuff Relish, to melodic like Carcass and early Arch Enemy to technical like Cryptopsy. It's a great tunning.

A great tuning only suited for death metal apparently... I only use B for Amon Amarth, attempts at Wormed, and once I dropped to A# so I could play some Morbid Angel and Behemoth 7-string riffs...
It sounds way too muddy, and this is coming from someone who likes grindcore(not goregrind).

Standard Tuning for me...
for some reason it just sounds better, to my ears that is, than the drop tunes...
just know that you don't have to drop tune to be heavy!

Haha.. mine would be standard tuning because i dont know any other for my Rg , and the only tuning i can do besides that would be drop d ( dropping the low e string with natural harmonics ) on my lp.

i go from C standard to E standard, but my axe tends to like D the most, and as i have been trying to learn lots of death and pantera recently, D is where its at.

A D G C F A D.
That way, I can do just about ANYTHING. I've got a tab of Unas, Slayer Of The Gods in this tuning (John Mansley ). And I can do my own band's stuff, it's a great tuning!
AND...
I can do Decapitated, and maybe dip down some when improvising to Vogg's solo spots.
Fuck those who think low is mud. My guitar states otherwise. I have massive clarity through my Digi' Death Metal!
It could just be that the pedal is more:
HERE IS THE NOTE, IT'S DISTORTED!
Rather than:
Here's the note, and HERE IS THE DISTORTION!
Low notes do have much more impact, and have a deeper feel. Slayer get their heaviness by hitting tons of Eb's a second and having the drums back it up with a blasting rhythm, whereas the likes of Meshuggah on the Catch 33 album get their heaviness from playing single open low F's.

My 6 strings are tuned to C# and C, my 7 string to B standard. Sometimes the C guitar goes up to D for some Necrophagist

E standard or Eb. I only tune down to play songs that are normally played in whatever tuning that they are. But once in awhile I'll screw around in D standard.
