Norwegian Black/Folk Metal
I'm looking for some Norwegian black/folk metal. I want to learn the language and I love the music, so I figure it would be a good way to help me learn. Also, I'd prefer bands that have most of their lyrics translated somewhere on the internet.

at a glance of that shit-ridden list, id recommend:
Myrkgrav
Enslavement of Beauty
Obtained Enslavement
Windir (and the band that followed: Cor Scorpii)
Keep of Kalessin
Limbonic Art
(no, not all folk bm)
the ones at the top of the list are for mainstream black metal kiddies. dont bother, you've probably heard them anyway.

Enslavement of Beauty is a pretty sweet band.
Im pretty sure this guy is looking for bands that have lyrics in Norwegian. Most of the bands in that list have english lyrics.

yeah, i was thinking the same thing... but that begins to ask too much. most importantly, the music should be good. if im not mistaken, i like more bm from the UK and Sweden, than from Norway.
i dont have a lot of time right now, but Myrkgrav is folk bm and the lyrics are Norwegian, ka0tix.

If you look for already translated lyrics, you can have a look at Dimmu Borgir's Stormblast and For All Tid, some Burzum, Darkthrone, Satyricon... mainly kinds of manistream bands. But you won't be able to learn much unless you look also for some grammar and dictionaries. There are some online resources, but not many for Norwegian. Anyway enough to be able to roughly translate a Norwegian text.

Yes, I was looking for bands with lyrics in Norwegian. Thanks for the suggestions, anyways, though. And I know that music won't provide proper grammar, but I figure it will help expand my extremely limited vocabulary a bit. Not to mention it will help with pronunciation as long as I can make out the words. =P Also, I've got a Norwegian-Norwegian, Norwegian-English, and English-Norwegian dictionary, so the translated lyrics are just a perk. Makes it easier if I don't have to go back and forth translating every single word I don't know with the dictionary.

With dictionaries, you can have a look also at Kampfar's lyrics. Kvass in particular's pretty easy.
