you can research on all the stuff that alexi uses on his guitar and throw all of that on a Jackson RR model guitar. I think that you might have to get it done at a music shop that carries Jacksons.  |

I just saw CoB and Sinergy at Bloodstock (indoor [power/true] metal fest in the UK for those who don't know) and he was pretty killer...
He was playing his sig ESP's, and the other gutarist (dunno his name) was playing a black Jackson Rhodes with a yellow pinstripe, I thought it was an old one of Alexi's.
I didn't know he had his stolen. I heard he switched to ESP because there was no longer a Jackson dealer in Finland or something.

It was stolen a while back too right? If I remember correctly, he switched to ESP because when his guitar was stolen, Jackson wouldn't lend him a new one, so he just dropped the endorsment.

He had his two Jackson RRs stolen right after the HCDR recordings after a Gig/Birthday bash thing. Jackson Custom shops treated him like any other customer bascially so it would have taken like almost ayear for what he was asking. so he bascially just 6told them to fuck themselves and went to ESP who said they could get the Axes in 3 months and paarenlty they didnt charge him much.
basically if you want exactly what alexi has ur gonna have to go through a custom shop. if you were to go through Jackson Or ESP its gonna cost ya the big bucks. but ask some of the guys here. i think soulinsane has a custom Ran, ask him what he thinks of the job they did. you could probably get the same stuff as alexi for cheaper with them,.

Someone once posted a link to the Japanese ESP site, and they sell a sig series I believe, whch is obviously pretty darn close to what he uses. I have no idea of the exact specs of either and/or how they compare, or the cost of getting an axe shipped from Japan to anywhere...
But who wants exactly what someone else plays anyway?
RR shapes are the most awesome shape ever, but I'd try and personalise an axe if possible. Even if it was a shitty Chinese/Koren model (well, especially then!)

It'll cost 3695euros, and they might have some even in the shop, so they'll ship right away. And just in case anyone's wondering, I checked with the Jackson's autmatic custom guitar price calculator, a Jackson custom Rhoads-like guitar built to the specs of Alexi's guitar will cost about 4000$, so the price is about the same. But it will take long, Jackson customs take a lot of time to build.
His old guitars were custom made Jackson Rhoads'es, both with only one Jackson J-50BC pickup and 24 fret necks. The other one (don't know the history of the other) was originally built for Jiri Jalkanen, the second guitarist of the Finnish thrash metal band Stone - by the way, Roope Latvala, the current co-guitarist of COB also played in Stone, and he too had a custom 24-fret Rhoads. So what people consider the Bodom/Laiho -signature guitar is in reality a Stone/Latvala/Jalkanen-"signature" model, they could be called the standard Finnish heavy metal guitars. |
