tubes?
so my splawn promod has been sitting on the shelf with a blown power tube for about a year. i finally got a new matched quad so i turned my baby on to hear that it finally works again, but theres alot of hiss and hum. i have many preamp tubes from all my amps and i'm sure one is blown. so i've been changing them out to see which has a better tone, but now they're all jumbled up. how can i tell which tubes are good to keep and which are bad? and i hope all the noise isn't something i have to send it out for again. the labor was free to fix it but its a bitch to ship

all you need is 1 spare tube. Switch your spare out with each one, one by one. Eventually one switch will make the noise disappear.
