Profugus Mortis

If you're into folk/symphonic black then this band will greatly appeal to you. Their similar artist include: Illnath, Stormlord and Catamenia. I'm keeping this thread short and simple. Enjoy metalheads.

when the violinist left, i knew there would be a substantial change. ...im not appreciating this lack of violin from a folk band that had one of the best ive heard. 3:13 - This Rounds On Me. whats missing there? we know damn well.

from the MS blog: "Contrary to what some have thought , the new material will not be affected by emilies departure seeing as she did not contribute to the song writing process."

sadly, wrong. and she harmonized so many of the parts. not only adding another layer to the sound, but also adding a third melody (something that made me refer to the band as "clever with melodies")

"There is no question that Violin will continue to be apart of our sound"

...so where is it?

BLAH, ok now that ive said everything i just fealt about this new revelation.... aside from that, the new stuff IS pretty equal in musical quality. but its missing the third layer (and my favorite part), found on -So It Begins. if thats not enough, i dont like the new album cover nor shirts.

Hey John..may be smart to post a myspace site..

http://www.myspace.com/profugusmortis

I bought their first album immediately after it was released. It definitely had potential, but after hearing two of their newer tracks, I'm not very impressed. The lack of violin presence really does effect their overall sound.

These guys are Canadian so that warrants a few bonus points as well.

You Canadians and your bonus points...

I'll look into these guys, seems interesting.

Timedragon got me to check these guys out a few months back, and I enjoy them. So It Begins is a good album, but I haven't had the chance to hear the other stuff.
