Which pickup do you prefer more? Bridge or neck?
As the title says, I'm curious as to which pickup you guys prefer. If possible, please also state the reason/s why.
I also added a poll, too.
Thanks!

I like both pickups equally. I use the neck for cleans and for that creamy overdriven lead tone. I also use the bridge for a brighter clean tone as well as a brighter hotter overdriven tone. It's all up to the music on whats used when. To summarize, I use both neck and bridge for both rhythms and leads.

I mostly use the bridge pick up, for sweeps and for a need for cleaner sounding leads i'll use the neck pick up. Maybe one day i'll play clean enough to never use the neck! doubtful...I never use the pick ups together, it seems to never have a big change from the neck, it seems to drone out the bridge pick up, so it's pointless.

I'd have to say that I use the bridge pickup for rhythm and neck pickup for leads. I sometimes use the bridge pickup for leads (if I use wah or just want those squiels) but I like the creamy sound of an overdriven neck pickup. For cleans, I usually use the neck pickup or both pickup, since IMO the bridge pickup has too much treble for my taste.

Neck humbucker for leads/anything on non wound strings and bridge humbucker for rhythm. I use every/any switch position when I'm playing my strat though. Depends on how I want to play it. But for death metal you just use one emg bridge pickup and a metal zone MT-2 and you're all set

What you said about neck humbuckers for non-wound strings makes sense! Cool. And yeah, that EMG bridge pickup + Metal Zone is a general 'formula' for playing Death Metal haha.

I use the bridge pickup most of the time since I mostly play distorted. I mostly only use the neck pickup for cleans.
