To download their torrents you have to be a member of the site, and to be a member you have to get an "invitation code" from a current member. They just happen to have a certain file I want that I can't find anywhere else  |

Well, it has good seeding, most stuff is pretty high quality vs. crap torrents you usualy see on most public trackers.. and ehm.. you can find lot's of obscurer or older stuff there.
Most torrent sites just have the newest / recent / popular stuff, on demonoid you can get an old obscure doom metal album, a ebook you've been looking around for ages, etc.
If you can't find it on demonoid, big chance is you can't find it on the internet.

I'll simply what a torrent is for you. A torrent is a small file that allows you to download/upload small pieces of a file that you choose to download the torrent of. For example, you download a torrent of Cheech and Chong's Nice Dreams. One person, the creator of the torrent is seeding the file 'uploading it'. So you download the torrent and open it with a torrent client 'software'. You connect to this user and begin downloading it from him directly.
If the torrent has multiple peers 'people download/uploading' you can check the status of who's downloading/uploading. You'll generally want a file to have more seeders "uploaders" than leechers "downloaders".
Torrents are just another form of P2P file sharing and in my opinion a much more efficient and safer way to get the files you want. Also take in consideration that torrents and torrent clients are 100% legal. The content put on certain torrents can be copyrighted, so be careful of what you download. (unless you're looking to download copyrighted material. that's a taboo anyways)

good explanation mostly.. but to clarify Requiem a bit..
the main (intresting) thing about torrents.. you download a .torrent from a tracker, that's a website.
The . torrent file is just a few KB's big, and doesn't have the file itself. Just the link to it.
The tracker doesn't host the file either.
It's like google. It just gives you the links.
But looking at progs like edonkey, or slsk, it's basicly *very* fast, and doesn't depend on peers for indexing and searching, just for the actual up&downloading.

You guys are fucking morons. I took 1 300mg in the morning, 1 at lunch and one around 3pm. Never was the strength of the pills overwhelming. Slapped 1/2 a morphine patch on(that's the most my gf's mom will give me at one time). I was feeling good, started watching A Scanner Darkly . Ended up getting on the internet to lookup something that my gf and I were arguing about(something trivial).
Here's where I black out. She told me I jumped up from my chair and stared at the wall with fear in my eyes. Then I hit my head on the desk and she caught me in her arms and I began convulsions. Her mom and mom's bf called the ambulance and I regain consciousness over 90 minutes later. Stayed at the hospital 'til 6am.

1. 1000 mg = 1/1000 kg, not 1 kg. So, yes, it was almost a gram.
2. The effects of drugs are cumulative and increase over time - especially pills which are usually designed to distribute the dose over a certain period of time. So, not feeling the effect you want just yet usually means you should give it more time rather than take more. Also, your overdose won't necessarily kick in until well after your last usage. So let's be a bit smarter from now on.

in regards to requiems OD story, opiate overdoses do not induce convulsions. i've witnessed many opiate overdoses, including 5 of my own, and never once did any of them ever involve convulsions. you basically just turn blue, stop breathing, and the medics come and give you a shot of narcan and you either wake the fuck up or die. that's it. just thought i'd put that out there. carry on.

wow dude did you seriously overdose on ultracet? i missed that post. someone bump it. i have literally hundreds of tramadol and ultram from prescriptions. they are utterly ineffective for my pain management but my doctor was throwing them at me for a while. seriously all they did was make me incredibly wired up, impossible to sleep, and after a solid day of taking them it made it REALLY hard to pee
i cannot imagine wanting to take tramadol or ultram or any of those for fun

Had a Doctor check my back out, turns out in was a fungus. The fungus is called Tinea Versicolor taking Terbinafine HCL 250MG for it. Glad it was nothing bad.

My favorite part is when the keyboard player sings the "Yeaaaaahhh yeaah yeah!" part then makes a goofy face and the mic retracts down toward the floor.
Or when the drummer covers his face from the fog and plays with one arm
