Band Encounters of the Gay Kind
I think I met em a couple nights ago (I live near Denver now, btw) at Summer Slaughter Fest 2008. Cryptopsy played, Black Dahlia played, Born of Osirus, The Aborted, Vader, some other bands...
After the show, I went up to some guys near a tour bus (shitty little white one, more like a van pulling a hotel room), and I asked them if they played because there were a lot of bands I haven't heard of before and I didn't remember what everyone looked like.
The drunk long haired fellow said "Naww, we goT can-sulled" but I didn't notice his accent right away. I asked what band, they said "Nec-cruff-ah-gist" is how they pronounced it. I was blown away, but not totally gullable. I looked em up on the internet, they looked sorta like them, but I was high, and they were drunk, but if it was them then it was pretty cool meeting them.
I guess this thread can be about times you've met bands or bandmembers.
I've also had run-ins with Frank Mullen and Lord Worm. They weren't very impressive (the conversations, pretty much my fault, but shit oh well) if anyone is interested I'll post about them as well.
Oh, also that night at Slaughter, I met the singer and guitar player of Cephalic Carnage. I was like "Holy shit, what are you guys doin here?"
Singer: "We live here man"
haha he's cool I'm seeing them on August 9th in Denver.

I've met quite a few of my favorite band members, but it really isn't hard if they're cool enough to hang out after a set. Just go up and say "howdy!".

ive met a lot of people from a lot of bands and befriended a few too, its really not that big a deal. youre not drinking expensive champagn with puffy daddy, youre yelling over an annoying PA at a metal show with 150 people
