Apparently the Bloody Murder is quite good, but i heard that from someone who raves about a piece of gear, then a couple of months sells it because he's looking for something else. That said, they are built well, as most of these 'boutique' pedals seem to be

120 for a custom hand-built pedal is quite good.

Or is that 120 for doing mods to the pedal?

No sound samples? Only a few reviews? That says no to me. I want to hear what he'll be doing to my pedal before I buy it. He's probably doing something you could do with basic soldering skills.

BODENHAMER ELECTRONICS

Hey Now

I purchased a Bloody Murder pedal last year, and it is by far the best overdrive pedal that I have ever purchased. Further, I was in contact with Joe (Bodenhamer) prior to actually purchasing the pedal, and he was prompt with his emails, polite, and made for an amazing transaction.

I currently own a Framus Cobra and an Engl Fireball. I love each amp's natural tone, and keep the gain fairly low, but found that I needed a little more 'push', especially with the Fireball. I didn't want to simply increase the gain on the amp, as this would muddy things up some. After explaining the gear I had, the style of music that I play, and what exactly I was after to Joe, the Bloody Murder was found to be the solution.

When I committed to purchasing one, I was put on a bit of a waiting list, but the pedal did arrive when he had stated it would. For my tastes, this pedal did exactly what I wanted it to do. I have the drive turned down pretty low (the Fireball and Cobra are high-gain amps after all...), the tone is down as well, and use the level control to increase the 'push' that I'm after. I find it to really fatten up the sound, while keeping the tone the same, and not muddying things up. With the setting I'm using, it also does not add noise, which is a bonus. I find it to open things up moreso than a regular boost pedal. I've also owned/tried several other tubescreamers and modded TS's, and again, for what I'm after, this pedal blows them away.

If anyone has any questions, I'm sure that Joe would be as helpful with you as he was with me. Shoot me a PM if you want to know more...

Sure, you could probably do that yourself with the right knowledge and tools.
But that goes just as well when it comes to guitars.
