Good neck p/u for sweeping?
I need a good pickup for sweeping. I'm having trouble with my current pickup, it isn't very clear. I have an Ibanez RGT42DX.(mahogany body, maple walnut neck, neckthrough.) I just put a DiMarzio D Activator in the bridge. I was thinking about putting the neck version of the same p/u in it? Or possably an Evolution. Any advice?

I would either go for the D-activator (for consistency's sake)
or you could do what I do.
get a seymour duncan Jazz neck pickup and lower down to where it is almost level with the body, a bit higher if you want. You get a really smoth sound out of it....makes your sweeps flow like taco shits

My freind had an evo and i hated it. Sounded nice but i sounded like shit playing on it. I guess if you wanna make an evo sound good you have to be really clean.

I'm sure my technique needs improvement as I'm not super clean w my sweeps just yet. I'm also sure some of it is the XXX I'm running through. My sweeps sound 100x better through my POD w headphones. I might get the neck D Activator because the bridge is super articulate and I dig that. Just wondering if there is something else that would get the results I want.

The DiMarzio PAFpro is excellent for clean sweeping.
