Genghis Tron

Picked up Board up the House about two weeks ago and I haven't been able to take it out of my CD player. The fact my lid has jammed doesn't help, but it's nice and snug in there now getting heavy rotation so what the fuck, huh?

What do they sound like?

Quadrangulate a mid point between Ire Works-era Dillinger Escape Plan, the electronica of Nine Inch Nails, a less technical, less ear-shatteringly discordant Psyopus and an Enter Shikari stripped of their vulgar saccharine. Now if you take this single point and turn it into a vibrating string, then you've got a pretty good description of where these guys are coming from.

So, what say thee, MetalTabbians?

NB, If drum machines introduce sand into your Care Bear panties you should probably avoid this like young boys a Catholic church.

They're getting mass attention as of lately but they prove that the only good metalcore is electronic metalcore.

I had the misfortune of seeing them live when i went to go see Nachtmystium earlier this month.

I couldn't pick out one redeeming factor. I enjoyed nothing of their set, at all.

So i got drunk.

Going to have to disagree with you on this one, John. I think their material is contrived and feels really "thrown-together".

Genghis Tron is great. They're the only kind of electronica (i guess thats the genre they're mixed with) music I like. Cloak of Love is awesome but too short. I don't which I like more though, Dead Mountain Mouth or Board Up The House.

Alot of what I've heard is really catchy, but my biggest issue, is that alot of guitar riffs, and melodies sound "copy and pasted".

They are so close to being good, but currently I think of them as just another decent band.

I have the poster from their Record Release on my wall. # 12/45.

I've liked them for a while, but they are more local to me.

Not metalcore.

He's saying "novelty" because of the electronic element.

Opinion = invalid.

You know, minus the joke aspect to the band too.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll check them out.

Seems like the Tron are a bit like Marmite; you either love it or hate it!

By that same logic, Emmure can be considered music too, right? Because if thats true, I think my faith in humanity might be sunk.

do they have a drummer nowadays?

I've heard these guys a few years ago and they sounded interesting but I was dismayed that the drumming was all programmed.

no drums, no fun.

Nope, no drummer. They don't want one. I think it works out in their favor, but thats just me.
