I want to sound like Megadeth!

Hi mates !
I´m an old Megadeth fun.
I want to buy a stratocaster like Jackson guitar ( like Mustaine´s ).
Which Jackson do you recommend ?
Also, I have a 13 year old Peavey amp with an uggly distortion. If I buy the BOSS Metal Zone pedal, would I get the "Rust in Peace" distortion sound ?
Thank you all !!!

I wouldn't realy classify those jackson dinky's as strats.
Technicly they're superstrats, but a real strat kinda sucks for metal.

Iron Maiden?

Almost all of the Neo-Classic metal guitarist/Virtuosos use them as well.

But Iron Maiden isn't very..well..heavy..

A strat neck is okay for leads.. still, the pickups leave something to be desired, especialy for rythm stuff.

When Jon was in Cryptopsy he used a strat. HA. So does Aaron from Isis.

Nor is megadeth.

Still metal. Although you could put active pickups and it would more or less sound like every other superstrat or les paul with active pickups.

Karl Sanders used a strat in the early days and first few albums and tours for Nile. They are pretty heavy last I checked

The original post doesn't make much sense. Anyone who was a fan of Megadeth would know what Mustaine played. I suspect trolling

Well he did peg the Jackson part. He just means a superstrat is all. Honestly I wouldn't know what model he played either. I do know that Jackson's are pretty awesome either way.

Dave always liked to use SD pickups, TB-4 bridge and Jazz neck, with a Marshall plexi type tone and a tube screamer before the input. He has used a ton of different gear in the past really but he always says he likes the pedal pushed plexi tone the best.

pfeh, I mostly play a strat too, you know!
But you kinda need to have a humbucker or double-rail pickup in the bridge at least.

Those 'classic' 3 SU configs are just..
No amount of metalzone pedals will help you out
