I have 2 crate blue voodoos and the first one i got (the 300) came with a really amazing footswitch. The 150 i bought has the shittiest footswitch ever. The midi cable input for it is all sorts of jacked up. They both are the same exact fucking amp except for wattage difference.

See, the thing is..in hindsight it probably wouldve been smarter to buy a different preamp, or build the fricking switcher or panel myself..

First, the e530 doesn't come with any midi capability. Pretty shoddy designing if you ask me, but I was told I could get a seperate midi switcher, so I thought it would work itself out.

So the midi switcher costs about 250 euros, which is about halve of the price of the preamp in the first place, is floor based.
Okay, which genious thought up that a midi appliance (which is traditionaly the realm of racks annyhow) for two different preamps (rack) isn't rack mountable?

Indeed, so they designed a freaking optional (= buy seperate) 19" mounting panel, for a fucking 50 euros, which basicly is just a black piece of metal with a couple of holes in it. They didn't even put "Engl" on it, it's just a flat black.. panel. If I'm going to buy overpriced shit, make it at least look like fancy overpriced shit

To add insult to injury, they didn't even include a "real" "official" power adapter with the midi switcher, but it's shipped with a generic variable adapter. You know, those no-brand things with a little switch to choose the voltage, and a couple of different plugs to put on the cable? Those $5 things that break down after a month or two? You know what I mean.

And it's not like it's easy to just have a conventional 3pin grounded plug in it, so I could hook it up to a power conditioner since it's a rack and all

True. But both the mounted 530 and midiswitcher only take up 1U, so it's no major headache.

Considering I don't have a rack poweamp (it's in the atomic reactor), and a case thats 6u, theres enough room to get a rackmounted effects unit if I feel like it, and it's better then my boss GT, and a power conditioner if I feel like that too.
