I'm starting to think it really was a good idea that Peter left, because Fredrik is FANTASTIC on this album. By far my favorite album of the year so far. It's so diverse and every song contains so much beauty...yet with sick riffs all fucking over.

I'm listening to "Coil" right now. It's badass as hell. Not gonna lie, right now it's kind of changing my perspective after hearing the shitty songs Porcelain Heart and Lotus Eaters.
The transition from Coil to Heir Apparent is sick as hell too.

I'm really enjoying this album. I've listened to it 4 times through. What I've noticed:
Extremely proggy.....blurs the line between Prog Rock and Prog Metal. Some parts might as well be Gentle Giant.
Per really shows his talents on this one.
Blast beats in Opeth? They work.
Good job guys. Another killer album.

I have to bring this back and say FUCK YOU to all you haters
Some of these tracks are on par with my favorite Opeth stuff, and Mikael's clean voice is actually sounding good now.
Heir Apparent = Best song & best solo. I'm glad he's hopped over to Opeth.
Cheers to all the Watershed fans!

Amazing Opeth album! I'm absolutely stunned. Hessian Peel is the fucking baddest song on that album.

That song is fuckin' cool. It took my ear a while to hear that half step lead line at the beginning correctly.
Has anybody found the end of "Burden" to be a bit of an odd surprise? I think that song is a great mellow track.
