Peavey xxx. I dont think I can though, the tube selector only allows one or the other. I think I fried the head anyways.

CANNOT run 2 of each. Thats a surefire way to murder your amp.

the only amps that can really do that is the thd's and the mesa simulclass ones, because they have specific bias settings.

I pulled out one of the tubes to double check what kind I was running.(Everything was unplugged from the head.) Put the tube back in and when I turned the power on I just heard a pop and then nothing. The head powers up fine just no sound what so ever. I checked the fuse and its ok.

sorry to kinda skew off topic a bit.
Does it matter what brand of tubes i get? I have 5 12A7Xs, 6 6l6s, and 3 5U4s. Does it matter if i put in electroharmonix, groove tubes, or what?

I dont think so as long as the amp is biased correctly. I swapped the sovtek's for Groove tubes and didnt have a problem.

Amps that use 4 power tubes can be modified to use two different sets at the same time but it requires some modifications. That's why I really like my Randall RM100. It came stock with this mod. I can use any tubes I like and even mix pairs for some pretty cool tones.
