I hate Dean. Their basses are way too much focussed on being "SO FARKIN METLE" than anything else, and that Dimebag model is GOD DAMN UGLY

I usually don't like Deans but I think Rusty Cooley's signature model is badass though. I like Michael Angelo's also.

I agree that Rusty's guitar is pretty sweet. Wish I had the money for one.

Yar, Dean don't do it for me neither. And fuck, Trivium are what Metallica should/could be. Trivium sound more like Metallica than Metallica. And I fuckin hate that cause I love early Metallica and hate Trivium. Must be too old.

i was thinking about getting that one and replacing the pups, i never liked playing deans though, and i thought it would have the same feel as a cheap dean would, kinda slacky and such. When you get it lemme know how it plays

there isn't much to choose from in the under $300 bracket. it was that or a diamond series schecter. the cheap washburns and ibanez's are kind of ugly. i'll post a review for you when it comes in, should be next week.

It doesn't matter in what it looks like, it does matter on the sound of those rigs do.

eh, i would definitely want a nice looking guitar, as well as good sounding. But looks do play a part.

got it today. pretty impressive for $250!
soundwise - it's awesome. heavy as shit and good sustain. on clean it sounds very rich and full. the stock pickups are great for the price of the guitar. i won't be in a rush to replace them. nice high gain and good tone.
as far as the body - the craftsmanship is really good. there was a tiny smudge of glue on one fret but other than that i can't find any flaws. the neck is fat but comfortable and it's got decent action. you can see in the photos, but the body is contoured and the top is kind of arched with little indents for the control knobs like a PRS. the back of the neck is unfinished, and the spot where it bolts on is kind of square and ugly, but other than that it's really nice. no problem accessing the frets all the way up.
overall it's a good deal. it's very bare bones / plain, but if you need a cheap 7-string to get started on, i'd say give it a shot. for more advanced players, the action and neck may be a little too unrefinded. but it's definitely a solid axe.
i'm doing some new videos soon, so you can see for yourselves in a couple days.
