JC120 alternative
I recently bought a Boss GT-8 from a friend who has decided to retire their electric guitar equipment
and i was wondering if you guys had any advice on a less expensive alternative to the roland JC120
i love the boss's tone all by itself and want a combo amp or poweramp to compliment it
any ideas
mostly this would be used for recording, but if I like it enough i may use it live

I have an Atomic Reactor, and it sounded lovely when I tried it with my Boss Gt-6. Especialy the preamps sounded like.. they were actualy any good.
Realy, there is no reason to buy a stack or combo if you are going to bypass the preamp.

You don't have to use the GT-8 with a JC120. Its only one of the many output functions of the GT-8. It can be output many different ways into almost any setup. You might want to check out http://www.bossgtcentral.com/ and read the tips. Make sure the firmware is updated too.

I'm sorry for the ambiguity of the post
i knew that there were multiple ways to hook up the GT8 and have tried many of them but i like the sound of the gt8 as a preamp itself and would like a relatively cheap good sounding power amp either in combo form like the atomic reactors or alone with an extension cab and was wandering about recommendations

In that case any low noise power amp would work. Carvin has some nice cheap ones that work perfect. All the tone will be controlled and come from the GT-8 but it actually does a really good job, even used directly into a PA system.
