Guitar amp volume live (death metal)
Hi, I have a question and I would like someone answer me. I have a peavey head valveking of 100w and a windsor 4x12, I want to know what volume using live and how to put the guitar amps in the stage. I am playing in pubs, small places and i want a brutal sound. thanks¡¡¡ I play Death-Black Metal guitar.

It all depends on the venue, its design, the sound system, and your band mates' equipment.
You actually don't need to worry about it though if there is a sound guy because he'll (if he's decent) level everyone out to sound good for the venue. If you think it might help (which it can), tell the sound guy that you're a metal band and want a more ear-bleeding volume.
Ideally though, if you're a band that needs certain things a certain way its not a bad idea to get your own sound guy to follow you around on shows to help you achieve exactly what you want.

It depends what is going through the PA. If it's just a small venue and small PA and only vocals and kick drum are going through it, you may need to have your amp set louder than if the guitars are mic'd up. Also depends if there are monitors, and of course if you're not mic'd up you won't be going through them.
Generally try setting things up the same as you would in band practise, and listen to what the sound guy tells you.
