Ok I got a lot of questions here. I'm hoping I can get some help.
Yesterday I got a Line6 Toneport UX-1. I bought it from Guitar Center and the guy who sold it to me made it sound like this was all I need to record. Unfortunately, I'm experiencing many problems and I can't return it because it contains software. So I really need to figure this out.
To tell you guys in advance, I have a Windows Vista that, according to the system requirements on the box, I had all the requirements necessary on the box, except I don't know about the drive speed as I don't know where to check that on my computer. Where would I be able to find that?
First of all, the gearbox doesn't play any tracks, not even the tutorial track. All I get when I press the play button is this.

Nothing. It just sits there without playing the track? Anyone know what I have to do? Am I missing something?
Second, I'm not sure if what I'm supposed to use for recording is the Ableton Live 5.2.2 because all that happens when I try to open it is this.

Just a white box. So is this what I'm actually supposed to use to record? And does anyone know what the problem is here?
So I downloaded Audacity because I heard that it is a free recording program. However, when I open a track and try to play it, it just goes into that state where it shows it's loading but does nothing and when I click on anything the window says it's not responding. Anyone know what the problem is here?
I also read some peolple talking about something about a soundcard. Where do I find my soundcard on/in my computer? How does that affect my computer/recording?
Lastly I can't find anything on any of these programs(granted I haven't been able to get past the white box on Live 5.2.2) that goes along the lines of "press here to start recording" or anything like that? How do I actually record by plugging my guitar into the toneport plugged into the computer? Do I hook it up with a recording program like audacity first? How do I do that?
Sorry for all of these questions. I'm getting really stressed out over this because this costed me $130 bucks and I all wanted to do was record some of my own stuff away from my band on my own. We normally go into a studio, which I won't be able to do for just this stuff and wanna learn how to do this myself.
