New here, and have question and such....

Hi, yeah like title says I am new here. I play guitar and sing in a metal band, and I'm capable of good clean and death metal vocals. However, I find that I can't combine the two to have an aggressive, but clean tone. For reference. a tone like Maynard James Keenan in songs like 'Judith' by A Perfect Circle, or 'Hooker with a Penis' by Tool.... if anyone could help me with this, I'd be very grateful

increase volume, tighten throat, gives harsher tone.

i have the same issue it actually makes it harder to have agressive tone when you scream and sing. Ive switched styles a lot and you kind of have to drop the screaming to get a good amount of grit with tone, also because seems to ruin the tone of your scream and so on so forth i think youll understand what im saying. So unless you want to give something up then start practicing a lot more.
