Tremol-no = fucking awesome.
I finally got around to getting one of these for my guitar. Installing it was 3x easier than I imagined after watching the videos that the inventor has on youtube. Being able to switch to whatever tuning I want without back spring adjustments and being able to divebomb at the same time and stay in tune is so awesome.
Sustain and resonance on my guitar has also improved quite a bit with it locked down in fixed-bridge mode, big chords sound so powerful and loud its amazing.
The only bad thing about it is that I *think* tuning UP from a lower tuning(say from B to Eb) that you set your spring tension for can damage/break the tremol-no, but I'm not entirely sure.
Solution: set up your guitar with the highest string gauge you ever plan to use on it with the highest tuning you plan on using with that gauge, then install the tremol-no and you'll be able to use whatever tuning and string gauge you want like if it was a plain fixed bridge guitar.
Ie: I have it in B with 59-13's, I can tune down to whatever I want, but if I want a higher tuning I'll just switch to lighter strings and I won't need to make any spring adjustments/worry about the tremol-no breaking.

Wow, they really work that good? I'll have to look into one for my Jackson Soloist. How much did you pay for it?

Wow 65$? That's quite a lot. I got it on ebay for 47$ + 5$ international shipping, but with the current exchange rate that ended up being 35 euros which is pretty darn cheap. I think I might get another one for my Ibanez UV7. They work on all 6-string floyds(including Ibanez trems), vintage trems, and 7-string floyd trems too.

I've got one too, in my peavey. Needed to drill new screw claw holes in my guitar though, cos the tremol-no piece was slightly wider. But that was easy, and now I can switch between floating and fixed. Tis such a brilliant invention

Tremol-No's are fucking sick. Any future trem equipped guitar will certainly have one installed.

I've been intrested ever since I heard about them years ago.
Howeverm they're a bit more expensive here than I expected.
Any reason to use on if you just have a basic fender-style vibrato bridge?
Does it improve sustain or tone in any meaningfull way?
If I plan not to use the tremolo anyhow, wouldn't it be better (but more difficult and expensive) to just fill up my tremolo cavity with the proper tonewood?

I find it improves the sustain of my guitar when its locked. Its just a really helpful invention, where you switch between locked, diving and floating in seconds. If you can find one for cheap, I'd recommend it. I bought mine off ebay.com and had it delivered to me in england. Saved me about £20
