Winds of Plague
Just heard this band for the first time today and was really impressed. I'm getting sick of hearing all these bands that all sound the same, so this band really caught my attention when i heard it. Metal-archives describes them as Symphonic Deathcore/Blackened Death Metal, but I'm not sure that's the best description for them. I'm not much for genre naming anyway. I heard the track Decimate The Weak and it really caught my attention, so i got the whole CD and it's pretty good. Definitely worth checking out if you're into that sorta thing. Give me some of your opinions..

It's real good actually. I'm surprised more people haven't said anything about them. I've been obsessed with this album since I got it. It's so refreshing to hear something different for a change, and since they have so many different influences, the album remains interesting. It's not bland and doesn't get old quick like a lot of music these days.

They seem to be the one scene band everyone likes, even those with credible tastes in music. I heard one song from them and it seemed pretty good. A couple years ago I would have loved them but not so much now. I'll give them a chance.
Yesturday I discovered Machinemade God. From I heard they seem decent as well. But I not into metalcore as much as I used to be.

Their old stuff is SHIT, just look at their old video on the myspace. I remember when all the kiddies raved about this band and I saw that video and hung my head in shame. For that reason, I'm surprised that this new stuff is actually really freaking cool. Ill get the album for sure
edit: woop scratch that looks like thats not the same video. whatever they still used to suck from what i remember

Nothing special, generic material thats being passed off as something interesting and awesome. I give it a D+.

Normally I'd say something about "the way they dress has nothing to do with the music," which is still true. But they dress like a bunch of dudes who should be in a mosh metal band.

overall i like them and i listen to the cd quite a bit but their singer says "winds of plague" way too much in their lyrics and i dont like some of their transitions and there is some generic stuff. I like the keyboards alot.

that's funny cause he actually doesn't say it even one time on the entire Decimate the Weak album, so I'm not sure what you're hearing...
But yeah, their lyrics are super cheesy but I don't hate them for it. It seems to me like they're not meant to be taken serious, like they're just havin fun with it. the lyrics are very informal and uses a lot of slang and shit like that, so i would say they're not meant to be taken seriously.

Old thrash bands use to do that a lot. Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Exodus, Anthrax all have the name of their band in their lyrics somewhere.
I always wanted to start a band called Goofshit and do a song where the "word" "Goofshit" appears in every sentence of the lyrics.
