In other news, I *finaly* have a big fat wad of cash sitting in my bank account, and I *finaly* am able to buy some decent gear.
I've been eyeing a not too outragious combo of an Engl e530 preamp combined with the Atomic Reactor 112 50 watts poweramp/cab.
Actualy, I already have ordered both today.
No problems with the AR112, however, when I ordered the e530 from Musik-Produktiv, I recieved the email with the order details, but not the confirmation email (with the payment details..gah!)
It prolly means I have to send an email for the confirmation and payment tommorow, which means it'll take an extra day before I get my gear.
I don't want to wait an extra day to play with my new toys 
Soon, I'll also be looking for a new guitar. I was thinking...a PRS? *drool*

Yeah man, I was smoking weed with my friends about a year ago and one of them told me they were playing Tetris in their head. Me being skeptical until have some legit information started doubting him and another of my friends say they do it too. Eventually, I was the only person who couldn't play Tetris in their mind.

My dreams have DEFINITELY been effected by video games over the years. This seems fairly obvious with the way my dreams go alot of times.

exactly what I thought at first. But I do like Fury Within and other occasional parts. The breakdowns are strong, too (I like the one towards the beginning of Fury Within) and it's still pretty damn moshable. It has overall grown on me upon listening more.

well, this is shitty and unexpected.
I was hooking up my gt6 to the atomic reactor, and my jack got jammed in the input.
When I removed the jack, the shaft broke and was stuck in the input.
I removed the shaft.. and now the tip of the jack is still stuck.
Dammnit!

We had a problem like this at a show with an acoustic guitar. We couldn't get the guitar cord out of the guitar. After like 30 minutes of pulling on it as hard as i could we finally got it out. I'm just thankful it didn't break inside.

whew, I got my amp working! I simply misread the manual a bit, connectionwise.
This thing is great! Even thoug the preamp models on the GT6 are a bit limited and need lot's of tweaking, I never got it to sound this good..
Especialy the clean is orgasmic..
I can't wait until I get my Engl preamp for this

thats the thing, you dont. not on covers like that. i saw the gorguts demo go for like 80 or 90 but that had a 'real' cover somewhat pro printed so you cant really bootlegg those as easily.

Motorhead played a free show for SXSW with Napalm Death, Enslaved and High on Fire Yesterday. The show started at noon, but I didn't get to the venue until 12:30. I missed all the bands except for the last half of High on Fire and Motorhead because I had to wait in line. However, I could hear Napalm Death just standing in line.

You'd have to do a shit load of modification and wire running through the neck. Probably remove the truss rod and use the gap there. Then you'd need to carve out holes in the neck for the buttons to go.

well he said Fender, so I just assumed it was a decent fender, but I guess it could be a cheap knock off. Then again, I'm one of those firmly against guitar hero, so I'd rather take a squier than a squier turned into a guitar hero squier

I just see all these kids spending hours upon hours playing that game, when they could be dedicating all that time to a real instrument and creating real music. It just bothers me. I don't mind people who casually play here and there just for entertainment, but those who dedicate hours and hours every day on it...I just don't see the point.

So what? Why does everyone HAVE to play a instrument to enjoy music? Why does one have to dedicate hours and hours of honing their abilities at an instrument to enjoy listening to other peoples songs?
Its the same with playing any game. Hell yesterday i spent probably a good bit of 8 hours playing Civilization 4.

Nope, it's a real squier. And on top of not having any of the hardware in it, it was also signed by Slipknot a couple years ago, so it isn't much of a loss.
Tried rubbing the signatures off if it, but it wouldn't come off.

I had a fuckin blast yesterday.
Went to go see Kayo Dot at 3pm. It was interesting because there was a band playing behind them....not even 200 ft away...so there was lots of noise interference. HOWEVER, that show had free beer and hotdogs. 2 kegs were gone in a matter of 30 minutes and then they brought out a lot of canned beer. They eventually ran out so I resorted to buying dollar Newcastles and Zeigen Bocks.
I continued to walk back and forth between venues. I saw this funk band with a blind lead singer who has a fetish for feet called "Foot Patrol" that were really fun. Awesome day......drinkin in the sun for many hours and listening to good tunes. |
