Yep, now I
Sweet taste of silvery tones in my mind
Made me step off the edge
Of my world and never look behind
Truth, freedom in a pledge
Now I
Now I
Discordant in face of wisdom I'll admit
What glowing in a cold place
Falling sad ruin and that was lack of wit
No use but someone's face
Now I know
Now I know
Wolfs of loneliness, ah yes, still forget
There was a door, strength to dig
Rose, thorns and choice whining or strength beget
And the universe is big
I covered myself
Uncovered myself
Now I know how to do this
Now I know how it's working
Covered as all but
Uncovered at will

The way I see it, the meaning of poetry, what makes poetry poetry, is to take something of yourself or your experiences, or someone else for that matter, and find something in it you can express in a way as to have meaning for someone else. Otherwise, all you have is, well, a collection of more or less successfull sentences with the basic meaning of me, ME, MEEEEEEE.
So, once I show it to someone else, the meaning isn't really my headache at all.
As for the background that lead to me writing it, well. I've been through a couple of rough spots this last year and a little, and didn't really know how to handle it, but now I do. And I know there are some out there who have through pretty much the same, so I thought, what the hell.

Well, I'm glad you "what the hell" --ed. I know about a step or two you've taken and they've been better than Marie's that's for sure.
Good flow to the piece and I liked that it was personal and yet applicable to others' lives, too.
Nice to see you write again.

Still though, I've pretty much shut uped (wehee, grammar) about that - I choose strength

You know it!
Are you gonna put a tune to this? It seems adaptable for that.

Mayhap, someday, when I'm a better muscian, and anyway right now I got two other tunes I'm trying to get somewhere with.
Suddenly seems to be a lot of energy lying around.
