hahah i didnt even skip class cause i saw on the weather its supposed to be even WORSE tomorrow. man i came REAL close to getting into a car accident, taking a left from route 9 onto the avenue of the pines, lost control (i wasnt going fast at all, my car loses control when theres a quarter of an inch of snow on the ground on turns). went off the road to the right, then pulled out of it too hard towards the left and JUST missed a pick up truck waiting at the light. retard didnt even pull forward a little bit, just sat there. i missed his back bumper by maybe 8-12 inches. i didnt even break becasue i knew thatd make it even worse

That piece is amazing, and I have yet to hear a better recording of it; as far as dynamics goes. The guy is Denis Azabagic; he teaches my instructor. You should check out Whirler of the Dance also
Yes, I've been playing for a while, although, I just started to get decent at it. I've recently started working on the first and third movement of that piece, along with another well known piece, Leyenda.
Have the lessons proved useful to you? I started taking classical guitar lessons a couple weeks after I started playing guitar, and never stopped. They offer free group lessons where I go, and free private lessons for the more advanced players. |

Well, I've been playing guitar for about 7 years and took normal lessons for about 3 years and I also play a shiton of acoustic (steel). Taking all of my experience and knowledge into a room where it pretty much means shit and I have to start with these new (and sometimes strange) basics is a bit difficult though, I know its for the better later in the game. I have discovered a lot of great techniques that I can easily apply to my normal playing and its so great to be at this level again where I'm really being challenged. So yeah, its proved useful to me.
I had to audition for the applied music program to get private lesson from the head of the guitar department and at the end of the semester I have to do a recital.
Thanks for the recs! I'll check them out as soon as what I'm listening to is over. I've got a piece you should here.. give me sometime to recall the name of it though as its in Hungarian (I believe).

I have the same problem when I approach electric guitar. Having started with classical guitar, mainly focusing on it, having massive amounts of repertoire, and having a great instructor has proved to make it alot easier than it would have been. When I go to play electric guitar, it's like jumping into a sea of techniques; and the real struggle comes into play when I look for lower level songs to play (any for that matter), as most of it is either boring, or sounds shit played slow. For me, having some one guide me has been essential to my playing.
My teacher actually prefers to give private lessons when teaching classical guitars, so most people recently joining are really lucky. Before when you first joined, you had to be intermediate to advanced in order to qualify for private lesson - it's still like that, but he has more control over it now, so he usually decides who gets them or not.
When you find the piece, definitely let me know.
I actually have no idea, and have been curious about that myself. Wherever it is, it certainly would make for an amazing venue to play at.
