vocal fry is the lowest register of your voice. it's all in your chest. to use it while screaming is a good way to save your vocal cords, in order to do it, think of Darth Vader when he talks, i know it sounds funny, but push your voice down into your chest, and use as little air as possible. then see how high you can make your voice while using it, and then scream, you'll know your using it if after you stop, your throat shouldn't hurt at all or very little.

vocal fry is where you use "proper" tecnique such as the one demonstrated by melissa cross in order to create mid to high vocals,
personally I think it sounds like utter shit!

what is the obsession with vocal fry? its cool in some bm type stuff but i agree with the latter they sound like shit most of the time and should be used when trying to conserve your voice. but if you must know try making your voice as low as you can push a decent amount of air and hiss something like "haaaaaa" or "yaaaahhh" (sometimes the y sound helps)

vocal fry is what nu-metal bands use.
they can't scream or do any vocals properly so they pretty much whisper with tone into a gain-driven microphone.

it's really just a shout with some throat involved.
the only way i can tell you how to obtain a sound similar to that would just be practice.
everyone sounds different too, buddy.
