But yeah, sounds great.

There really has to be a limit to how technical death metal can get. For every one band I discover that I think is the fastest ever, I find two that do it even faster with "sweeps".

check out the mastadong beat @ 3:00 ... ouch haha
sounds pretty good! back to the informis feel. i like it when they go totally frantic and stop trying to be heavy in terms of melody. their heaviness lays in the effort imo ... need to hear them struggling they've got that grind spirit.

the spirit of grind - simplicity and primitive ideal over technicality and forward thinking.
hmm this is pretty technical and forward thinking in about every aspect compare to the rest of their catalogue!

playing so fast that it necessitates mistakes but realizing that's a strong part of it and leaving it on record, playing dog/cat in such an exaggerated way that it sounds like a parody, etc. i think they're conscious that they sound like they're hurtling out of control. they do it well and that's what makes them fun. and it's the same feeling you get from a really good grind band imo. they're obviously not genius composers so they're going to push it to the point of ridiculousness and make it physical.

you tards are just being contrary. if you think paul ryan is 'utterly technical' you need to broaden your horizons. they list themselves as grindcore on the old myspace ffs. demonstrate some insight into this band that rivals mine and i'll give you some credit. but neither of you have anything to say! 4000 posts of a whole lotta nothing

that's your shtick, arguing semantics? congratulations, you've personally defined grind as "primitive" and put it up against a fragment of a sentence that i wrote. that's some deep probing and musical criticism worth reading. maybe when you're done listening to that daughters record, you can tell me about how the locust reinvented the moog and how they're more utterly technical than walter carlos. lmao

I always associate the spirit of grind - or the grind ethic, if you will - to possess two qualities:
1) a "DIY" approach; and
2) pushing oneself to the absolute limit
Origin satisfy the latter only, but, for me, that still does not remove that whiff of grind ethic that surrounds them. Does this mean they are grind? Of course it doesn't, but it doesn't preclude them from possessing one or more of the qualities that define grind; much in the same way that Yngwie Malmsteen possesses the spirit of classical music without ever satisfying all the criteria of being classed as such.

Good point john. I never care for such topics as if the band is grind or not. Why waste your time arguing about it? Its just music.

Don't mind Infinity, he's just a grind elitist/purist/buttfucker.
Are they grind? No. Do they have grind elements? Hell yes. There isn't a black and white in music and especially not metal. Its not "You're either grind or not, god dammit!". Its pretty lame to have the kind of logic that Infinicock uses and to go on defending it as much as he does. Music is a continusously evolving undefinable blob.
Song: Sounds good. It does sound more like III.

I'm starting to really dig the new Origin. Didn't like it at first but it's growing on me. The song 'Antithesis' is now my favorite song by them.

Yeah man, that really is totally out of place. The song is still great, but that little bit just doesn't fit at all.

Just got Antithesis the other day and it's finally good to hear Origin with a decent production. They always sounded like they were riffing on the neck pickup on previous works.

I don't really notice their vocals anyway; too busy trying to concentrate on the riffage!

Just saw these guys in concert and they played a lot of the new album. However, the highlight was definitely reciprocal.

Awesome, I'm going to see that show tomorrow. Should be crazy, glad to see Misery Index is back too. Reciprocal is definetly one of the best bands coming out of LA right now, and I mean any style of music. Anyone who likes (god I hate this term) "technical" death should check them out.
