Do my vocals have any hope? (Sound clip)
I recorded this file a few months ago. Just for the sake of having vocals i recorded my own, even though i have definitley never considered myself a vocalist or ever thought of doing them. are they any good? Should i start working on my vocals or just give up and continue playing guitar. or quit both haha. Also it may be important to add that I could barely talk after this so ill probably have to improve my technique.

oh yeah the long tortured scream is looped because the second one wasnt as good.

Good for black metal but not too original. If you tossed in some growls then you'd catch my attention. And if you could barely talk afterwords I'd definately find a better tech, that shouldn't happen.

Those vocals are very cool sounding, but if you couldn't talk you probably should try something a little different...which is a shame because it sounds so good the way it is.

I was exaggerating a bit when i said i could barely talk afterwards. what i meant was just that my throat was sore.

A sore throat my be normal for a gig or practice, but while recording I'm not so sure. You don't need to use your voice at a high capacity to get a good sound. Just scream to the point where you can get a good recording.

yeah, if it doesn't hurt to bad, just keep it going. What I usually do when my throat hurts from vocals is drink lots of tea. That seems to soothe my throat.
