The new Decrepit Birth leaked.
Listening to it now, it kicks ass so far.

Please is the magic word. I thought posting music downloads here wasn't allowed but if you say so:
edited. ZOMG where did it go.
Sounds like Paul Masvidal and Chuck Schuldiner pitched in on the songwriting process, but it's still good ol' DB. A new approach to their old style, which is a very good thing.

I'm still going to buy this record though, it's just that I'm an impatient bastard.

ive got it on preorder but word has it i wont recieve the package til late jan or mid feb. that kind of sucks, pre orders are historically the first to go out. its just a conflict with the touring schedule i guess (id like to see the tour, but the nearest date is in worcester and i dont think my car can make it)

Patience my ass. I wanted to wait too, but I bought it at the show last night. Took some half decent pictures of them too. This album is abso-fucking-lutely amazing. If anything better comes out in 08, I'll be shocked.
Trans: Going to that show wasn't worth your money anyway. You not being a fan of BDM or (ugh) 3 Inches of Blood (who sucked horrendously) made it useless. Decrepit Birth and Hate Eternal had short sets. HE's setlist was amazing though...

Yes. They have copies of it; why not sell it? It'll help them not be broke.

Dissection: you went to the Worcester show? I didn't think it was THAT bad. and why does 3 Inches suck so much to you?
anyway, they had a kick ass deal going: shirt and cd for $25 or hoodie and cd for $30. So I bought a T and Diminishing Between Worlds. So far es goood.

No, I was taking pictures at the Philadelphia show. I live in DE.
Estringrev:
Agreed; The main stream media and fanboys won't agree, but shit, I'm going to promote the hell outta this band in a hope that it'll get respect from those who matter.
edit:
Oh, and I don't want to sit here and bash 3 Inches, but I don't enjoy their music (simply put). To me, they are a Fantasy Metal version of King Diamond (c'mon, laugh at that at least).
edit 2:
I also wasn't saying that the show was bad. Its definitely the best show i've been to since the week I went to Skinless/Suffocation and JFAC/Behemoth. I'm just saying, from Trans' point of view, it would have been a waste of money. He would have been their an hour between two bands and not really got his money worth.

Anyone notice that one bit in the solo from "The Living Doorway" that sounds like something from Yngwie's "black star"?
That and the massive influence from death.

Finally got a chance to hear the new album yesterday. It's brilliant. Death metal (or metal in general) needs a record like this NOW. I can't wait to see them tommorow with Hate Eternal.

It's a fan-fuckin'-tastic ablum. One of my favorite albums of the year so far.

Well guess what buddy, I missed them too!
The show was supposed to start at 8 and I got there at 8:20. Fucking not only did Decrepit Birth have to go on EXACTLY at 7:30 for some weird reason, but tickets were sold out. And I was like "WTF" because this shit never happens here in LA, not even when bands like Cannibal Corpse show up. I seriously didn't think Black Dhalia Murder had such a huge following. I mean there were scalpers and shit. By the time I got in line and found this all out someone told me Erik Rutan was just outside the club. Looks like Decrepit Birth and Hate Eternal only played like 15 - 20 minutes each and earlier than they were supposed to. What a fucking burn.
A couple people besides me were pissed and this one dude cracked me up: "So what fucking time is the show gonna end? 10:30? Why, so all the mallcore fags don't stay awake past their bedtime?"

Yeah Decrepit Birth played like 4 songs and Hate Eternal was really short too. The show ended at around 11:00, it was weird. I went to the show at Pomona btw.
But I picked up a DB shirt and the new album, its amazing.

idk where in NY you reside but the tour is coming to Buffalo on 3/16 with Animosity and Braindrill, so you still have a chance to make it.

It was groundbreaking when it was called "Death" and the album was "Human."
But still absolutely god damn amazing.
I've been stuck on Brain Drill and haven't been giving this album the attention it deserves. I might go buy both tomorrow...
And Decrepit Birth isn't on the tour with Brain Drill and Animosity. Its a completely separate tour from the one BDM is on now.

Try again. "Death" is not brutal death metal.
That's like saying metal wasn't groundbreaking because it was done by blues artist first.

Nah, I have to agree with Dissection on that one. I really like this album, and it is fresher than most shit in the genre released recently, but it's not completely groundbreaking. Just very well composed.

I was honestly just being an ass. Every time I listen to it, the Death influence sticks out like it should have been done before now, but it really hasn't.
estring - death were not brutal in any way, shape or form, no; but they sure as hell were progressive as a motherfucker. Joking or not, that was the reference.

Can you name a few brutal death metal bands that sound even close to the new decrepit birth?

I can hear the death influence too, but this album is still much more than that. I've never heard any brutal death metal like theirs, and I can only name two bands outside of brutal death metal that come really close to their sound.

I don't really get into a whole lot of brutal death metal, other than Origin and a few others, but this fuckin CD is blowing my mind right now.

After another listen,
I still love the album.
But some people are right...
...where'd all the Decrepit Birth go?!
Its a big step up in their sound, but I miss "Prelude to the Apocalypse" style DB. Eh, fuck it. I'll just listen to Inveracity instead.
time to spin this album AGAIN.

The first album was great, but it really didn't need to be made again; Typical brutal death metal gets monotonous really fast, no matter how quality it is.
Prelude to the Apocalypse and Condemned to Nothingness are some of my favorite metal songs ever.

but Decrepit Birth are about to put my shots from the Philadelphia show up... Pretty fuckin' awesome. Offered me access for any show I decide to come to...

Yeah, I saw that they are trying to ditch some of the tour shirts. Wish I could say I was surprised that they didn't sell more of them, but I'm sure only about an eighth of the people who saw them ENJOYED them.
Thanks though; but yeah, bunch of hard work and dedication to my photography paid off.
aka, I was failing as a musician, and so is everyone else around here (for the most part), so I picked up photography and ended up good. hahahahahaha. God damn I fail at guitar...
