I'm not all that bummed about Insidious after all because I have some Decrepit Birth, Hate Eternal, 3 Inches of Blood, and Black Dahlia to attend tonight!
Nice avatar, Infinity.

I always look for the most seeders when looking for a torrent. So I'll Google the file I'm looking for and click on all the results until I find the one with the most seeds.

Saw them all last night; only set that sucked as 3 Inches of Cock-In-My-Ass. They are horrible (IMO) and I don't understand how they are as popular as they are...

It was fun, all in all. As always, hardcore kids couldn't keep their genre to themselves, but the pit was so good otherwise that they didn't really bother me. circle pit during Hate Eternal and a little push pit broke out every few minutes on the sides. I enjoyed 3 Inches of Blood, except my fucking head was lined up directly with the sweet spot of the PA when the singer let out a huge wail and my ears nearly went numb.. on top of their vocals being a bit too loud in the first place. But they had some passionate fans in the crowd which was fun to see. BDM's set was too fucking long (at Decrepit's expense) and everyone was pushing up to the front like nerds. I met Bill Robinson of Decrepit at the merch area and shook his hand. He's a good guy no doubt. I bought the new album, too. The acoustics blow ass at this venue, though. It's a mess of sound all happening down around the stage and then since the ceiling is so high, none of it carries. But in the end, call me a sucker but the bands sell the show, not the venue.

Wow, the Massachusetts show had more scene fags than the show from my area? The show down here was pure metal pits until BDM, when a few scenesters jumped into the pit and swung their arms around like idiots. They got wrecked by the bigger metalheads though...
And honestly, I was happy with the set-length overall. BDM's set WAS long though. I would've liked to hear another song or two from Decrepit, but the crowd wasn't feeling them as much as I was anyway. I wanted to mosh during "Prelude to the Apocalypse" but they opened with it and I was taking pictures.

Just got through playing at the Chicago Cultural Center of performance arts. It was fun, and they had some really decent/good classical musicians.
I play classical guitar.

I never saw the point in games like that or Guitar Hero. All that time these kids are spending playing that shit, they could be learning a REAL instrument and playing in a REAL band. It's a waste of time.

I hate guitar hero. With all the fucking time people spend playing on a fake guitar, they could be playing a real one, and actually putting together their own songs, and possibly make good money from doing it.

I agree with estringrev. Partly because I have an amazingly difficult time with guitar hero because the buttons don't follow the rhythm and there is only four buttons instead of twenty four frets, and partly because

Guitar Hero is fun for a few minutes when you've been drinking, but thats it. I also think its sad all these kids learning how to play songs on plastic buttons when all that time could have been used to probably learn the actual song and maybe another.
Finally got my card installed and everything. Doom 3 is fucking intense. Portal is genious.

I can play the guitar well, and *kill me for it*, busting out a great riff or solo on GH can give a comparable feeling like when you nail it for real.
Plus, what video game has fucking Slayer, GnR, Megadeth, Anthrax, Suicidal, Metallica, RATM, Alice Cooper and Pantera on its fucking soundtrack?!

WOW.
Not everyone wants to play a real instrument. Not everyone wants to be in a band. People just like to have fun. Some- enjoy games and Guitar Hero was definitely an innovative idea. Leave it at that.

Overreacting.
there is a fine line between people who sit down and play through the songs with 100% accuracy on expert and those who just ENJOY it. And do you REALLY want every kid in your neighborhood picking up a Squier starter pack and starting a "band?" Plus, what evidence do you have that every person who plays guitar hero or rock band is less likely to pick up a real instrument? If anything, its ENCOURAGING it...

But his material would have never seen the light of day.
No game that I know of, but I have a technique that remedies that problem. Mute, and a CD player.

I'm not overreacting, and the people I have in mind when I bash guitar hero are the ones who sit and play it for hours a day. I've seen a guitar hero competition, and it's only rivaled in stupidity by the air guitar competitions.

guitar hero is nice, there is nothing bad about playing on a fake guitar, it helps you to coordinate your fingers, plus, its nice to listen and ''play'' music with friend when your drunk.
I like both( guitar and guitar hero), and there is nothing bad about guitar hero.

Eh, it was a big jump you made with what you said, but yeah. I agree. Those wastes of life who go to competitions and spend their life playing GH should probably go out and see the light of day occasionally.

Gotta agree with that. I've seen so many people just waste hours on it and not even be drunk. I've touched it twice in my life both times slammed. I actually couldn't get in to it, maybe it was because i saw two screens.

You know, I'm not sure why I still post here. I don't even listen to metal anymore.

As long as the music I listen to has a guitarist with a great sense of melody, I'm happy.
Can't really say metal is my favorite style of music at the moment since I rarely listen to music that I'm not playing anymore.

Gee, that's the same thing I've always said.

I have played guitar hero on one or two occasions, but it's really too embarrassing to play for any length of time, even when no one is watching. I don't understand why kids wouldn't rather but a 80 dollar Squier and learn some Led Zepplin or Sabbath or something.
And guitar hero isn't really innovative compared to.... well.... a real guitar.

Yeah, they should keep it simple at first. Maybe learn some Dream Theater and work their way up from there.

i see nothing wrong with guitar hero. its a fucking video game. we all have played video games before. and heres a game about music and playing guitar. wtf is wrong with that? you say instead of playing guitar hero ppl could learn to play a real guitar, same goes for any game. why single out guitar hero?

cause it hits home with this forum.
i agree though. it's just a game..and there have been many games that just let you do something you could be doing, without really doing it. i've yet to play the game..but could see it being pretty fun. especially with a plenty of alcohol and some friends. of course, covering random classic rock, punk, whatever while using a real guitar, make-shift drum set, and screaming your lungs out (with alcohol of course) was pretty damn fun!
have none of you thought that maybe this game could get a lot of people that don't play the real guitar to think about playing? maybe even start playing? the ones that will most likely put more effort into it as a whole will likely give the real guitar a shot. those that just are playing the game for something fun or cool to do...might just have a passing interest.

Yeah I feel the same way when I smoke weed, which is why I don't do it anymore. I just don't feel 'right' when I'm high, it feels like I'm a different person and I want to go back to my regular self, that's the only way I can describe it.

I loved it my first time... seeing frames galore. We smoked out of a gravity bong too so I was doubly fucked up.

Damn, a gravity bong your first time? Props to you man. My first time was out of a homemade bowl and that got my trashed, so I couldn't imagine a gravity bong for a first time.
I'm gonna buy a dime tomorrow, hopefully. I haven't been high in about 2 weeks. And if all goes to plan, I'll be getting high in one of the coolest places relating to nature I've ever been. I see if I can get some pictures.

Well, the way it felt for me was like, I dunno, I was able to focus so well on anything there was to focus on, but it was like I had no choice as to what to focus on. One minute I'm staring at my hand, the next I'm focused on my heart pounding in my chest. Playing video games weren't fun either.
Basically, it's an experience I can't handle and don't want to handle. I'll stay with my cancer sticks.

I love CashCrate- was about to declare myself broke when a $26 check comes in the mail. =D
For those of you who don't know what CashCrate is I'll tell ya. You just do surveys for money. After a month, if you've made over $10, they will send you a check.

He's cool, the guy has a weird life. He goes to every place people DON'T tell him to go, like Islamabad, Syria, whatever. And he really knows to catch your imagination, guy went crazy for 3 straight hours, had a great time.
Can't believe he's actually an old fart, the way he's on stage you'de say he's 30 max, but he's actually near his 50's. He told some shit about his black flag days and him visiting US marines even though he's against the whole Bush administration.

clear your mind or you WILL get fucking paranoid.

The wind dishevels it? Mine doesn't have that problem, it just blows into my face and gets annoying. Which is why I normally wear a beanie outside in Fall and Winter.

LUCKY! I love Henry Rollins, his show, his spoken word stuff, and Black Flag (can't say I'm huge on Rollins Band Rollins Band). He's definitely some personality. My mother's best friend use to know him way back in the day and she's told me some awesome stories of him being outrageous.

I just watched the entire True Norwegian Black Metal series on youtube. I'm not a big fan of black metal (I do enjoy it every once in a while), but that was interesting. Now I'm not a huge fan of Gorgoroth and I was always under the impression that Gaahl is a just another satanic black metal doughbag, but not so much anymore. He seems pretty cool IMO, just really really weird. He lives in a cabin in the middle of no where with no electricity or running water and he collects wine. His views of life and God are interesting (not really evil or satanic). Pretty good watch.

Nah, that was the one documentary that aired on VH1. I think it was called Metal: A Headbangers Jouney
Side note: It was funny seeing Mayhem drunk at Wacken in the Metal documentary. "Germany sucks for Mayhem!" - Necrobutcher

That's the thing about drugs, whether you like the feeling or not, you can't fight it or you'll be in hell. You just have to go along for the ride and embrace it, however hard that may be sometimes.

LOL.
My heart has raced before while smoking weed..then again it was probably laced half of the time.
I don't do drugs anymore, but the friends all want to do mushrooms. Most of them have done them, some of them have not. I used to do a lot of them(loll0ol). It seems they are near impossible to get at the moment. And I'm talking about quality blue caps, none of that pale orange garbage you find in cow fields.

Yeah, i don't smoke weed anymore either. Not because i really wanted to quit, mainly because of drug testing for the Air Force. I'm not gunna say I don't miss it, but i definitely dont need it. As long I got alcohol in my life, i'll be happy

oh req, you're pretty straight-edge, for the wrong reasons. Enjoying a fine crafted beer every once in a while aint gonna make you do stupid things, its just like a nice wine at dinners or champagne at newyears. have a little fun goddamnit

The Doctor is right, have a beer!
I'll never understand the straightedge lifestyle. Of course the first couple years I was on metaltabs I was straightedge, because I was caught smoking weed by my mom when I was 14. But when I turned 18, I went downhill.

I got drunk for the first time at 13, and never stopped since, and hopefully never will. Drugs are fun and all, but there's nothin like a good night out drinkin with some good friends and some women. Pot is so predictable, but a few beers and some shots and you never know where the night will take you.
