Balancing Output Between Pickups
Hey people, just a quick question. I m looking for a neck pup to balance well with my bill lawrence 500xl bridge. Its currently in a superstrat (alder body, maple neckthrough with rosewoood fretboard) Any suggestions on a suitable neck pup that will do both beautiful cleans and distorted leads? Does anyone know the dc resistance and output of the 500xl?
I had been looking at a Pearly gates or a jazz neck, but had some suggestions for an air norton
Hope you can help

No idea, never played a jazz, but the paf pro most likely pairs up better with insanely high output pickups like the lawrence than the jazz.

I have a jazz myself. I really like it. It's just kinda quiet. The sound is beatiful clean, and really good for like legato runs with distortion. But it's still quiet. I don't know if that is a fault in the wiring though. most of my other guitars neck pickups are louder....

I agree with the PAF Pro suggestion. Its cleans sound great and it performs very well with distortion, sounds nice and smooth on the high notes so it does well with legato.

And it's pretty loud for a neck position pickup!
