Question On Mogami 2524 Cable

I'm making some custom instrument cable using Mogami 2524 cable and Neutrik ends. My question is regarding the clear section of the cable under the black pvc layer. I know the black pvc layer needs to be stripped back like in this picture.

But does the clear insulation of the cable need to cover the copper strand all the way up to the solder joint? Or does there need to be a gap between the clear section and the solder joint which leaves a section of the copper strand bare?

If anyone has a picture of a properly installed connector I would appreciate it. The pictures that were once on this forum no longer work.

Thanks for any help.

Yes, the clear part will nearly touch the solder joint. Actually, it will even just start to melt a little. "Just start" being the key words.

Tinning will wick solder under the clear insulation anyways and make it easier to create a perfect solder joint with the Jack.

I would take a picture of my cables but my camera is fucked up.
