A couple miscallenious gear questions

Ok, I have a few questions regarding different gear.

1. Does the Peavey 5150 Not have preamp tubes?

2. On some Dimarzzio pickups some will say "F spaced". What is that?

3. Did Ibanez stop making the RG 550 model? If so why?

Thanx.

1. 5150 has five 12AX7 preamp tubes.

2. F-spacing is wider spacing between the pole pieces. For proper string alignment and balanced output, F-spaced pickups should be used in the bridge position on all guitars with string spacing at the bridge of 2.1" (53 mm) or greater. On these guitars, if the nut width is 1-11/16? (43 mm) or greater, F-spaced pickups can be used in the neck position as well.

3. No, still in production.

Well technically the original 550 is discontinued, what they have is a reissue of it(but is allegedly inferior in quality). And I think it's a limited run too but I'm not sure.

You only need F-spacing for guitars with vintage or Floyd rose type tremolos.

I have an original 570 which the today equivalent is the RG1570. The original Edge trem is what made those guitars rock. The new Edge trems don't even hold a light to the original Edge.

Totally. It's no wonder that even Vai and Satriani try to get the original Edge put in as many of their guitars as possible. Next to the OFR the original Edge is my favorite locking trem of all time. I had one on my old RG and I have an Edge III on my Xiphos, but the original Edge kicks its ass all over the place.
The 90's Ibanez RGs line is one of my favorite guitars ever, I am always looking on eBay for something to replace the '96 RG that I had. Not too long ago a dude was selling a totally gorgeous 1991 RG 550 with a maple neck, Edge trem and Dimarzio pups. 'Twas fine.
