Jackson people!
I asked Chris from Jackson Guitars about Jackson in 2008 on Myspace. Anyways the answer excited the poo out of me, so I thought I'd post it for the Jackson fans here.
"2008 is going to be a huge year for us. We have all new upgrades to all pro series and MG models as well as the JS and X series. All remaining affordable. Now the USA line is the sickest it has been in years! Keep your eyes wide open for March to April time frame and you will not be disapointed. Hail Jackson"
Thank you-Chris
I like the news about upgrades to the JS and Pro series. But I just bought an RR3. I'm gonna be pissed if an upgraded one comes out soon.

Can't wait to see what they have in store. Even though their US made guitars still cost an arm and a leg. Hail Jackson indeed.

I have a pro series and a JS series. MY friend has a JS series and an X series. Of course the Pro series is the best but the X series is good, and the JS series really aren't that bad at all. And all of those series are getting upgrades so I'm pretty excited. I've only played one U.S. jackson before and it was the coolest thing ever.

I used to have a JS and though I later realized it wasn't great it's still great for novices. MG's I thought were good enough as they were, it'll be interesting to see what they add to em. Didn't they already give the MG series better stock pickups like real EMG's?

maybe they'll put afterburners back into the mg series, and maybe some OFR's in. That would make my day.
Also, tighter tuners

Yeah actually, they come with 81's and 85's and not EMG-HZs (yuck.)
I love my new/used DKMG Dinky. But whoever had her before didn't treat her too good

Or even some Kahlers. Have each guitar with the opption of string through, floyd or Kahler.

I doubt they will get kahlers...as awesome as that would be, i'm fairly sure Jackson is exclusively floyd rose. Schaller would be sweet though, happy to see an R2 in one of those...

Yeah, the cool thing is, they have new jackson tremolos on the pro series that really hold up. Ever since they started putting real Seymour Duncans on the Pro Series, they changed the Bridges up. They are really, really nice. I've never played an OFR, but these new ones don't come out of tune. I am wishing for a kahler though...although it will never happen.

DKs and DXs all are I think. Practically all the ones above 400$ are MIJ.

The JS series is made in India.
The Pro Series is made In Japan.
Not sure about the others, because the X series my friend owned was used and didn't have a "made in" sticker.

the only one I know of that is currently in production is the Christian Olde-Wolbers guitar. It's a dinky and comes in either black or camo. With one EMG pickup.

I'd like a seven-string jackson. I hate having the name seven-string warlord and only having a cheap ltd sevenstring, which is in dire need of total rewiring.

Ever considered an Ibanez? They make some nice 7-String models. So do Schecter. Like this one. Other than the disgusting looking metallic finish, it's a fucking beauty.

That was actually a well constructed sentence Bob. Your English has improved alot since you first joined here. Keep it up and you'll be able to speak as good as people on the west coast

I played a 7 string jackson. It was a blue dinky model with reverse headstock. It was pretty nice.

I was actually going to get a free Ibanez seven-string. but that didn't happen. I really don't play seventrings too much anymore. My band plays in D-standard. I might get a sevenstring sometime, but it will be a while from now.

kinda ironic with a "7-string warlord" as a username. But i find myself using my schecter c-7 a lot more than a few other of my guitars, probably cause i've been listening to a lot more nevermore. IMO though, schecters are one of the best companies for 7 strings

everytime I go to guitar center I always play the schecter 7's. I love the necks on them. my ltd 7 string has a treestump for a neck. Which is kinda good because I learned to play on it, as it was my first guitar. So when I got my first jackson, i was pretty fast.

I just recently got a Jackson Warrior. Not sure what model it is, and frankly, im too lazy to look it up. Ran me about 500$.
I had never played a Jackson before. What a sweet surprise. What a upgrade from my Bronze Warlock
I heart Jacksons.

They offered Kahler up until the 98 on some of the USA select models and was the whole reason I ended up getting a custom made guitar a few years back. Once Fender bought Jackson I couldn't find a stock guitar with all the right specs in one model. I would love to see them offer both Kahler and OFR on their stock guitars again. Also, bring back the H-H configured soloist, god dammit!

My buddy just bought a SL2HT, which is H-H configured, and i think the SLSMG is as well.
Had no idea jackson came with kahler bridges at one point in time...really wish i could've got my hands on one.

Megadeth used Kahlers with their jacksons

Yeah. That seemed to happen a lot. First everyone went from Jackson to ESP. Now people are flocking to Dean guitars. Kinda weird how they go in groups. But for a while it was crazy how many poeple were doing the whole Jackson to ESP thing.

i like dean, it's alright, but thats basically it. I'd take jackson over ESP any day. But Mustaine's dean kicks ass, what i find weird is the 800$ price difference between his "VMNT" guitar, and "VMNT Limited Edition"

Mustaine's Gears of War V is pretty cool. But I've noticed that about the VMNT limited edition prices. too. Kinda like the Limited edition kirk hammet ESP's. It has like a different veneer than the normal, and mirrored inlays, and it's like 10,000 bucks.

haha, apparently by 800, i meant 4000$ price difference, my mistake... now here are the specks for both, i dont see much of a difference, except for the amount of guitars.

* Dave Mustaine Live Wire USA custom active pickups
* Dunlop flush mount straplocks
* Includes hardshell case
* First 500 guitars to include Megadeth CD autographed by Dave Mustaine

Limited:
* Only 150 will be produced worldwide and signed by Dave Mustaine
* Heavily flamed maple top
* Equipped with Seymour Duncan Mustaine Live Wire active pickups
* Gold hardware
* 25.5 scale length with 24 frets
* Dunlop flush mount straplocks
* Deth certificate signed by Dave Mustaine included
* Custom stenciled hardshell case included
