I just discovered these guys with Dopethrone. Its really great - the kind of doomy sludge I've been after for awhile. How does the later work compare to Dopethrone?
EDIT: Just checked out some songs off the new album on their myspace. I don't like it nearly as much (if at all). Oh well.

Do they have any releases with the same vocal approach on Dopethrone? I heard a few tracks off of the self-titled and the entire new CD and that all sounds like stereotypical stoner rock shit.

Bump because I can't get over how fucking awesome Dopethrone is. I checked out Come My Fanatics and it sounds more promising than the others, but I haven't given it the time it needs yet. Its a fucking shame that they didn't do another album like this, especially with the gripping, distorted vocal approach on Dopethrone.
Dopethrone is a fucking raw, angry, misanthropic, drug induced coma of doom. It's heavier than a pregnant Gene Hoglan and has that 'fuck-all' attitude comparable to Eye Hate God.

Yeah, the mixing of the vocals (below the instruments) is brilliant. If they had done it in another way, this album would have lost so much of it's charm.

i went to the rise above 20th anniversary show this weekend, fucking amazing gig.
Electric Wizard were off the scale.
I bought the limited edition (500 copies) 12" sold EXCLUSIVELY at the gig. it's beautiful.
