I bought Windows XP x64 Pro edition a month or two ago. Its fine, but finding certain programs to run for it was a bitch as anything x64 was normally just for vista. Theres also some hardware issues, with some companies not providing for x64 XP.

Im running Vista Ultimate x64 and its absolutely fine. I've got enough mem. Nothing ever crashes, itunes is fine, I've had that reboot prob once and never again. It runs games fine, I was playing crysis pretty well the other day (its just a shame crysis sucks.) and its ran Bioshock perfectly, which is more than can be said for XP x64.

I'm not too happy with vista just because it still does use too much memory, its uneconomical, but I'm being pedantic in that sense. I don't see much of a reason to swap back to XP, but I might dual boot it.

Edit: thats a point too, I've had NO issues with Unreal Engine 3 products on Vista either, and that is one fucked up engine at the moment.It seems more stable in UT3 though.

Running Vista Ultimate and I think it should run flawlessly? It is definetly not slow but it just has bugs. Itunes crashes for no reason at all, sometimes internet explorer just crashes as well. When it goes into hibernation it fucks itself up by turning off the keyboard somehow, thus not beeing able to log back in and having to reboot.
There's more, it's just beeing a pain in the ass. Never had these problems with XP SP2, same goes for performance with other things.

I am by no means a computer expert and I barely play any games (except for Fifa and PES). It is just a pain in the ass that it fucks up when during normal shit like updating your Ipod's podcasts or working in big MS acces files etc. When I'm working I don't want a computer to fucking crash when it goes into hibernation, that shit pisses me off.

At work I ride on elevators all the time, bringing carts from one place to another most of the day. I hate when the door opens on the floor that I'm going to get off at when someone just walks onto the elevator quick without waiting to see if anyone is going to get off, or if anyone is on, the elevator.

Today I got out of an elevator with someone leaving in front of me and he saw a group of people hanging out on the floor, whom he randomly started a conversation with.... Not letting me by him. I was blocked in front of the elevator for a minute. But in those situations seconds seem like minutes. The guy he was talking to looked right at me several times and didn't even think enough to move out of the way.

I work in a nursing home and it is considered inpolite to rush a resident or anything of that matter, which is why I took a few moments to wait for them to get out of the way. I've gotten into a few arguments too many in the past with residents and nurses so upsetting a patient wouldn't have been the best option for me.

Just a few minutes ago I went to the gas station and picked up a snack inside. I walked up to the resigter and put it on the counter, making eye contact with the cashier who was right there. She then started a conversation with her co-worker for was sitting in a booth across the store. I figured she was going to ask something quick and cash me out but she continued talking for about 30 seconds. Again, they seem like minutes. I then rudely said excuse me and asked her if she was going to chash me out. My anger progressed to a higher level as I walked out of the store as I played the scene over again in my mind. So I got her attention when I was outside and flipped her off through the window. It wasn't just a regular weak put up the finger and walk away. I made an extremely br00tal fist and my arm shook intensly as I flipped her off. It was so br00tal that I bet she didn't even realize she was being flipped off untill the shock stage was over.

Well the reason the smoking pisses me off is that every time some jackoff anywhere in the building decides to light up, the smoke alarm ends up going off and EVERYONE has to leave the building. It wastes our time and, more importantly, the fire department's time. It happened once yesterday and again today, and today it was raining gumdrops out. A couple weeks ago, it happened at not 1, not 2, but 3:20 in the fucking morning, and we had to wait outside for about 40 minutes only for them to then tell us that somehow, water got into some electrical unit (they were very vague about it), and that we would need to wait for the electrician to come from 3 towns over. It was freezing out and I was in bed shorts and a sleeveless t-shirt. We weren't allowed back into our rooms until 5:00am.

On a lighter note, I'm moving into my single room tonight.

Well, almost...


Fucking emergency evac today at work. Environmental hazard. I was standing right there... We were watching 4 plant workers purging a big tank using a 1" rubber flanged hose at 90 psi, but apparently the hose was old, and looked like it was kinda dryrot where it was bolted to the tank. So we're standing on the ground, its about 11:45 and we're debating whether or not to go up to the 5th floor to grab out tool buckets and shit before lunch.. when all of a sudden... BOOOOOM. They were purging this huge Chlorosilane tank with Nitrogen, and when the hose burst, all the nasty fucking acid and shit came flying out of the tank, with the Nitrogen feed still on, so the constant flow of horrendous shit didn't stop. When this shit mixes with water (it was raining lghtly outside), it forms a fucking gigantic green Hydrochloric acid cloud that exterminates everything in it's path. I look at my foreman, who has a fucking terrified look on his face, and he shouts "EVERYBODY GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE" and we bolt for the truck. We were out the front gate before the evacuation alarm went off (this alarm RARELY goes off). We get out to the road, and it looked like a goddamn storm cloud was over the plant, drifting to the east. The entire building was consumed with this acid cloud... I'm guessing the EPA is gonna bite off some dicks when they get the full story. Fuckin hell.

I'm in a pipefitter's union. The job site where I work is a chemical plant that was originally owned by General Electric (now its Momentive Performance Materials), and they produce silicon goo. They get train loads of silicon ore from god knows where, crush it up, add copper, acids, and all kinds of other unholy shit to it and sell it to companies that make glues, latex, gaskets, caulk, that kind of stuff. I repair, and fabricate (if it's new construction) the pipes that this goo travels though. This fucking place breaks down so often, that it employs over 100 contractors, full time Pipefitters, Iron Workers, painters, electricians, laborers...

"true" as in their chelicerae (appendages that the fangs come out of ) move from side to side rather than up and down...aka labidognath spiders. tarantulas and some other spiders have fangs and chelicerae that move up and down instead and are called orthognath spiders. they're all still real spiders...just important differences as far as taxonomy goes.

haha, screw it. i didnt mind the job. when there was a leak or a pipe exploded, for the most part the first thing that came to mind was "break time". once, a guy was cutting holes into the trash ton containers, so that no one would use them again. he cut into one that still had about 200 pounds of chlorine, because he didnt check it first (this other guy is SUPPOSED to check them. thats the only reason it was on the ground, with the other trash ones.) anyway, looooong break there . other than not giving me a raise, it was an alright place. the head boss was crazy, but rarely came around. the head manager snorted coke a lot. employees drank on night shifts. we even had 3-4 barbaques a year where everyone drank and ate, on the clock. haha, i dont know how many damn lunches i had, while on the clock. hell, the place owed it too me. i did one of the crappiest tasks there, and got paid the least. washing containers, outside and right next to the caustic tanks and acid clouds from guys washing valves. and when they would get someone else to wash containers, they wouldnt end up clean, and i'd have to redo them. the manager would always say how good i was at it and shit, but never a raise. in a year i had like one abscense. bullshit place. haha
