Radiohead - In Rainbows

So good. So fucking good. Seriously worth the very long wait - Thom Yorke is simply amazing.. his vocals are so beautiful (though less neurotic which is I miss) on this album I simply don't know what to do with myself after each track. Play it again? Cry? Kill myself beacuse I couldn't dream of making anything remarkably close? Masterbait? Murder?

Go out and get it. Wait, go here and get it because its the only place you can get it. Don't have the money? Don't worry - the band offers the entire album for free. You can choose to pay, or not. Now that is fucking cool - I can't think of a band of their status doing something so generous. Fuck you record companies!

Thoughts?

You'd pay for it if you were a fan and wanted the band to make money. I havn't visited the site but isn't it like you choose how much to pay for it? Like, $0 or $100? or $100 000?

Never been a fan anyway, interesting sales pitch though.

I hate to be a tool and download it without giving them something, but I'm broke this month.

I'll give it a listen and give feedback. I'm a big Radiohead junkie, so I really can't see myself not liking this one.

I did and do.

I read somewhere that those that pay get a higher quality version so I checked: My other store bought RH CDs are 128 kbps and my In Rainbows copy is at 160 - I'm sure the difference is barely noticeable though.

I downloaded for free (incredibly broke) and at 160bps.

I haven't listened to it as much as I'd like to before giving an opinion, but so far what sticks out is that it's quietly, sometimes achingly beautiful, but uneven enough in terms of memorable material that I'm not too surprised they chose to offer it for whatever we wanted to pay. As always, though, an interesting new development of The Experiment.

Click on my link, enter the sight, click continue, click "order" next to "download", click on "view basket", enter how much you want to pay and I'm sure you can take it from there.

I love it, can't stop listening to it. It's my new favorite Radiohead album. It even beats OK Computer and Kid A in my opinion.
