Screaming Improvement.
Hello, this is not one of those posts asking how to scream.
But merely some vocal tips, recently I've been learning how to do a medium pitched growl, using the vocal fry technique, like the vocalist of Grand Belial's Key and Helrunar.
It sounds pretty good but I usually get a slight sharp tint in my throat while doing it, minute though.
It's only started happening this month, the whole period while I was learning to do it using the same technique I never felt pain. But now after a short vocal session, my throat is dry and hurts if I try to do it again. I push the air for my diaphram if anyone is wondering.
I bought the Zen of Screaming 1+2 to learn how to do it safely, but I really didn't learn anything from that.
What I am wondering is, is the pain during and after the scream due to no warming up?
If so, does anyone know any good vocal excercises and warm ups I can do daily before I start trying to scream again? It's my dream to become a metal vocalist and I don't want to give it up!
