Here you go!
Here you are: http://metaltabs.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38953
I'm not very good at powertab; but this is the right way to play it, cause Czral himself showed me.
Enjoy!!!
Bjeima
PS.: The whole Carheart album (guitars and bass) is tuned down 3 half notes!

Hi!
I would also be interested in "Hustler" tab if someone can figure it out
I begun to tab it, and maybe will produce something here soon, but I don't feel very confident with what I've found so far...
Any help or comment would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks and be strong.
ps: New virus album is on the road(s) :-))) keep an eye on it!

Fingers everywhere?
Bjeima, you have seen played Roads - so lucky you are - I would have a question:
I expect he fingers that one (and Hustler), but many others as well. However, did you ever seen him doing any other piece with a pick (mediator?) ?
His tone attack is so aggressive I had attempted to get it with pick rather than fingers (can't figure it out, tho :-D), but then the power, dynamics, etc.. just aren't the same. Anyway with my (crappy) nails nor my guitar setup and knowledge I can't just get such sound, but either, he has so great attack!
If you see this and can help, I would be very glad
Thank you in advance and Cheers!

I'm Pretty sure Carl-Michael plays the guitar with a pick. The bass I thing is with the fingers.

mmmh, I never seen him, but on my side, hearing the attack and 'flowness' of pieces such as 'Hustler', 'Roads' and 'Stranger Calm', I really think he fingers some ...
BTW in Virus, Pleynum does the job, not Czral, and I think like you that he fingers his parts.
But see, how that becomes not that much obvious regarding some Czral parts

If Carl Michael fingers is guitar notes.....my hate/love connection with him will grow out of proportion any moment now.
He already (was :\) an amazing drummer, bass player and now this.......
Anyway....never underestimate the power of production and a very thin pick. (We will never know......ask the guy that know's him. Actually Carl-Michael seams a very honest fellow, should be nice to know him! Honesty is very underrated in the music world)

So again, Bjeima, your input would be greatly appreciated !!
Indeed great drummer/guitar and so on .. and he seems - seems because I don't know him personaly - such a fair and whole artist.
Furthermore, what was my surprise to see some 'Stalker' best scenes (best "SciFi" or should I say "meta-SciFi" movie ever - in my personal movie rating) on his myspace!!! I already expected the woman cries/coming in "Hustler" from Stalker, I now am sure.
These guys sure have the taste for elegance and weirdness, I just love.
I just can't wait to have the opportunity to see Virus playing!!!
Will they ever come and play in France ??? let's say ... Lyon ???

Hi,
you're welcome hope you'll have fun with it.
As for Ved Buens being 'ignored', problem is to figure out the chords!!! The harmony is very tricky to find out, especially in 'Written in Waters'...
However I don't despair and hope to give more VBE and Virus tabs soon.
Virulently yours,
Trognz.
ps: btw, I just pm'd you Roads from Bjeima transcription in ascii.

Download tuxguitar if you have a mac. It's freeware, works on macs and you should be able to open power tab and guitar pro files with it

Thank you both very much. This stuff has made my day man.
I figured thats why there weren't so many VBE tabs up but I figured after 10 years someone would have figured some of it out. Just goes to show how original it is.

Strange Calm tabbed.
Just tried Tuxguitar for the Strange Calm tab, and this is indeed a great tool!
Light, powerful, Open source, Nice.
However, 2 practical issues:
- export to ascii does not provide the 80-col limit
- then I exported to GP to use GP's export to ascii
- but then - export corrupt? - GP crashs with an esoteric error.
So I had to export in 132-col in Tux and change it manually so it fits in 80 (pain).
Nemesis, if you have such experience and solution for this, I would be very delighted
But so far, I think I will continue using Tuxguitar. GP and its bugs make me so crazy sometimes.
Be sure to give me your feedback on Strange Calm : http://metaltabs.com/forum/showthread.php?t=42343
To have the rhythm, if you want the GP or Tuxguitar version let me know and I'll publish it.
Thank you and have a nice evening!

I've never done anything more than opening and writing tabs with tuxguitar (I didn't even know, you could export them to ascii ). So I can't help you this, sorry.

Hi guys,
actually I already posted it ! Or, do you have problems opening it? This .gp5 has been generated from tuxguitar, but here I can open it with GP 5.0 and 5.2.

Hello dear fellas!
To clear a few things up:
- Kalle uses pick! No finger picking.
- He uses very little distortion, hence easier to get the dynamics.
- Yes, I have seen him play alot of other riffs and songs too. I worked as a sound engineer on a demo recording of Lost Peacocks and re-recordings of Strange calm and Sex and Violence.
- Petter uses finger picking only.
- Both Kalle & Petter uses strange playing techniques which are very hard to copy. And the riffs are harder than they seem; I found "Road" to be the easiest.

Picks
Bjeima,
thank you so much for your very valuable input!!!
I was pretty sure that he was using a mix between pick and fingers...
you know, I am now totally contaminated, to say the least
If you ever meet them again, please give them the cheers and congratulations from french true fans!
Their music is such a shock I haven't felt like this since... hmmm, never actually.
Virulently,
Trognz.
