I used the phrase 'suckered in' for a specific reason. If you like the taste of things that taste like what they are then we're on the same page. I don't think I've ever been compelled to drink, though.

i can respect that, but can you explain to me why you feel that things that are alcoholic must not taste like they are not alcoholic? ill sound like a immature douchebag [which for the most part i am] but when i drink, i drink to get totalled. i don't drink for the taste, i drink for the drunken-ness. as do alot of peeps my age [most?]. i think you know my angles on alot of things and can presume for yourself that it's not just me going along with the crowd. i like getting drunk and that is why i drink. i dont do it often, but when i do, i don't wanna just waste money on something that tastes like shit just to get mildly tipsy, ill get something thats sweet and sticky and will write me off.

Simple: I don't like amateur drunks. I can and have with regularity drank a 5th of Maker's Mark or Wild Turkey 101 in a sitting, at the end of which I'll be pretty goddamn drunk. But, and if you've ever had either you'll know and appreciate this, there's no way I took in even a sip of that without knowing what I was doing. The problem I have with candy-style drinks is that it makes it too easy to get drunk for the very people who should be a bit more careful. I can drink a lot with surprisingly few repercussions; your average lightweight chugging bubblegum schnapps can't drink much. And after four years of high school and another four of college I got pretty sick of watching people who couldn't handle their liquor drink anything that didn't have the warning taste of alcohol and end up riding toilets or ambulances. So, while I understand the desire to get drunk without having to deal with developing a taste for alcohol, I have no sympathy for it.
I also just don't like the taste of any of your sweet liqueurs. I also don't like fruity wines and fruity or wheat beers.
And the things that will get you drunkest will taste the worst anyway. 151 is not exactly a pleasant taste.
Better over than dragged out in endless inertia.

I totally agree with PST here, same applies over here. Some people just can't hold their alcohol and just drink a few Pasoa, Safari's or Blue Curacao's.
It tastes like some lemonade cocktail with a lot of sugar so you can easily chug a few of those.
I however, don't allways drink to get drunk, I enjoy having a few beers with friends or having a few beers during soccer games, sitting in the sun, whatever. Same goes for drinking a bit of quality 30 year old single-malt whisky.
That's the stuff that can easily get you drunk but does taste good However it's not the stuff you should drink to get wasted. It's a waste of perfectly good whisky if you don't appreciate it's fine taste and just doze it down.
I'm not talking about your average Jack Daniels here, mind you.

Most Vodka is pretty much tasteless, it's good for mixing. The good Vodka's (like Wyborova) do have a nice taste though. But good Vodka is pretty rare, funny thing is, if you have good Vodka you won't smell the alcohol from your mouth. (Russian specialty)

See this all the time working at the nightclub. 151 is awesome, even tho in most mixed drinks its used to set it on fire.

Sorry to hear that Doc. Last year I did the same with my gf of 3 years as well.
Several months later I fucked some dirty whore and then found a new girlfriend after that.
Hang out with your friends more often and enjoy your independence and availability as a free man. All the best to you.

Believe me, if I wanted to impress with drinking stories I would have mentioned something specific. All I was trying to impart was that things that are dangerous naturally come with indications of so being for a reason and it's a foolish idea to get rid of them, while at the same time impressing that I also drink to get drunk on many an occasion and can hold my liquor better than you because of how I go about it. If I want to drink some sugary bullshit, I can do that any time, but if I'm out to get drunk I'll drink something that tastes like it.
Now, for the future, if you want my opinion, don't go have a cry about it when it turns out you're lumped in with pre-pubescent girls trying to drink their gag reflex away so the backup quarterback will like them.

Sure, to a person who who doesn't drink. I know men in their 40's that can drink 22 Heinekens in 3 hours and don't so much as look sick for a second. Really.

oh in that case, cheers dude, thanks for making me aware of all the dangerous alcohol i should have been looking out for. i'm happy that you can hold more liquor than me, it makes me beamingly impressed and i salute you. i wanted your opinion because i was trying to completely understand why you are against something that both tastes decent and makes you feel better. it doesnt make sense to me that you'd deliberately drink something that tastes like shit simply to prove a point that "im a man, i still have my gag reflex, i know what im doing is WILDLY DANGEROUS by what im tasting but i'm daring enough to do it anyway, because i'm just that kind of guy!"
when i drink im not out to impress anyone. im out to act like a rambunctious child that i am with my mates. its not my fault if the quarterbacks love me. personally i love sugary bullshit. you love petrol. doesn't matter in the end, i just wanted to understand your motives. and they sound like drinking macho-ism.

Wait, so you're whole point is that PST is a macho?
Well, he is. He's the biggest Macho man I've ever seen. Hell, I've seen him beeing Macho in an Anthrax pit.
Maybe you just haven't developed a proper taste yet, don't worry, you're still young and I predict a lot of alcoholic years in your future.
So, do you guys have Breezer sluts as well??

Yo Doc,
That's a long time. Like my main homie said, get your mind of things, go out, hang out with friends more, enjoy your 'available' status and tear up cunts. Sometimes I miss beeing single!!
There's plenty of fish in the sea, even though right now that may not be the way you feel about it.
You're still young, look at the bright side, you could have been married for 30 years.
Beeing a beer-bellied, bald, drunk fuck doesn't put you in a good position to score chicks. Right now you're in your prime, so ga voort en vermenigvuldig u

Well, the official description: a girl with a very loose sexual morale.
My description: a girl that gives head for a bacardi breezer. (a sweet lemonade like drink that contains alcohol)
This was officially brought into the media somewhere in 2005. It's been known for a bit longer and these girls are usually between 15-20 years old. They try to look a older by dressing daringly. You can find them in the clubs and bars of bigger cities but it's also a common fact that there's breezersluts in the more rural areas.
Maybe infinity is a breezer slut.

that's part of the reason i didn't like going to all the "college bars" in my area down there..places would be filled with guys like that and their female equivalents.
much prefer to find a small bar that served better beer, or was at least more supposed to resemble a small british/irish pub.

Well said. I think it's a pretty universal thing to see clone doughebags.
The girlfriend wants to go to the Maryland Deathfest really bad. If she went, I'd go as well. Might even make it a road trip. Tranz or anyone else going to next year's??

well they won't be paying nearly that much because of the insurance. he said more around $40. you still have to factor in insurance fees though. same for you canadians.
you might not pay anything when you get the operation, but you pay for it in your higher taxes.

Mainly I just wanna go for the beer.
It would be great to try and meet up with some of you retards though.

fo sho! i don't really know of any great beer stores in that area since at that time i mainly drank 40s, cheap liquor, or shitty cans of shitty beer. there are a few total wine and mores up in northern virginia though. there are also a couple in delaware which could be even closer than the ones in va depending on where the show is.

Hopefully it happens..I fucking hate making plans that turn into pipe dreams.
It's going to suck because I'll probably be just with under-21 people..I'll be the guy getting all the booze. I'd probably take 40 minutes in a liquor store just looking at the new-to-me selection.
Hell though, if I go...and you guys are going, we'll have to meet up and party in my hotel room.

yeah people come from all over the world for the show..there are plenty of hotels to put them up. sonar itself is a totally underwhelming , run of the mill venue.

Ahh that reminds me of high school tech class. Which simply equates to 90 minutes of internet time a day Tranny will tell you.

Tag team- flam sessions?
Man, I learned that TIPS is an acronym. It was the most mind boggling statement ever.
But can't seem to find the meaning, does anyone know?

I remember downloading Quake in class off a warez site, putting it on to the main server for our district where any computer on the network could access it. We would all show up for our programming class get on the same server and beat the crap out of each other for hours. We ended up getting caught but somehow they couldn't delete this cracked version of quake off the districts server, so the following year, (i didn't go back to tech for programming) my friend tells me how they refound Quake and intalled it on the computers again and got in ass's of trouble and they ended up disconnecting the network because of it for like 30 days?

There are no parties I know of either...yet anyways. I'd have a few friends down for dressing up, but probably not the majority of them.
No idea what I'd be though..perhaps a drunk and then just get drunk.

The 23rd is a Tuesday.
For Halloween, I'm gonna be a fucking box. http://www.ebaumsworld.com/flash/play/684
There's a cover band show nearby on the 22nd including Megadeth and Bathory cover bands. Should be interesting.

Cool idea for a costume. That reminds me of when a friend of mine went to a Halloween party in Boston and Kevin Smith was there as Silent Bob... not that you're Christian Bale or anything... He showed me photos too. It was awesome.

I'll be at boarding school. =/ It really sucks that Halloween these past few years has been during the week. They'll probably have some special dinner on that night or something like they did last year. Meh. Halloween isn't fun anymore.

I didn't feel like making a seperate thread for this in bands, so,
If anyone can suggest any Brutal Death/Grind for me to check out (stuff like The Grieving Process, The Partisan Turbine, Annotations of an Autopsy, etc.), please do so. I can't stop listening to Skinless and The Grieving Process right now.

I don't even listen to hardcore, fucktard.
2 hardcore bands on my entire 80 gig ipod; those are Blacklisted and Coalesce.
I'll check out that band though, thanks Req. Dammit, now I feel like listening to Psycroptic.

LOL I was just joking man. I'm getting into deathcore though.
Any suggestions?
Although you may want to check out their similar artist through last.fm.

Yeah, I've got The Partisan Turbine's album. Its not bad, but most of those bands, feels like something is missing.
Deathcore bands?
Whitechapel is hands down the most brutal shit to come out of adding the word "core" to a genre. If not their breakdowns, this band would be a straight brutal death metal band, but they get tossed into the pile with some of the garbage.
Suicide Silence is good. Born of Osiris. Carnifex isn't bad, the drumming is rubbish though. Diskreet. And definately check out The Grieving Process (not deathcore, but amazing). Knights of the Abyss have their moments, too.
Idk, i've got a long list of bands like that, but start with those.
Especially Whitechapel, hands down one of the best albums released all year.

I like them, but they honestly have too much hardcore influence for me (even though its not THAT much). Same reason I don't really like Despised Icon much. Both good bands, just not something I listen to more than "every now and then."

Dude, Skinless is like a disease around here. You would like Saratoga. I've seen them at least 10 or 15 times by now.

Disease in a good way or a bad way?
You are lucky; being in NY, you get alot of brutal shit popping up around you. I'll check out Saratoga though.
