a string question
I don't like strings being that floppy and loose, but i usually play tuned to b or c#, so it poses a problem. Are there any tricks to making the strings less floppy? Will thicker gauge stings do the trick?

I tune my guitars to BEADF#B. The trick that I use is 7-string sets, just not use the high E. If you have a Floyd Rose or any type of double-locking tremolo, it requires a conciderable ammount ot tweaking. Or you might want to use heavier strings like 10's or 11's. I did that for a while, but I found 7-string sets work much better.

Forget the 7 string set... Either way, your gonna need to adjust your floyd(if your using one). Just get higher gage strings and your set. I use 10-46 and its fine for me. Want bigger, grab the Zakk Wylde GHS custom set. Comes in 2 sizes, one is
60, .52, .36, .18, .13, .11 and the other is 70, .52, .36, .18, .13, .11 man, if that doesnt work i dont know what will!

Yeah, but the most important thing is the guitar callibration, not the strings, because when you tune down your guitar, the strings are supporting less weight, and the bridge can be fucked... so I recommend you to take your guitar to a guitar shop and tell the seller what afination you want, and he'll callibrate your guitar...

higher gauges mess up your Guitar Neck (where you tune your strings)
Last time my strings broke off my tuners.....LOL!
And that guitar was a BC RICH NJ Virgin
