Hadn't read that, but I saw that performance and figured there was some relation.
I'm also hearing a lot more CoC on this record, at least on some tracks (at least one riff sounds more or less exactly like, if I recall correctly, 'Drowning in a Daydream'). Which is strange, because I've always heard a lot of CoC in Down anyway.

If you like Down, then definitely. There's a whole lot more of Pepper Keenan in this music than Phil Anselmo. Go for Deliverance, Wiseblood, and In the Arms of God.
'Beneath the Tides' is the song with the riff that's reminiscent of the CoC song '13 Angels.' Don't know why I thought 'Drowning in a Daydream.'
