Kramer Vanguard FR440
I've been eying this thing for a while. Its basically a knockoff of a Randy Rhoads shape, i think there are subtle differences. Nevertheless, its only gunna be like 300 USD to ship it to where i am. I was wondering if that price is decent?
Specs:
2 quad rail humbucking pickups
Kramer licenced Floyd Rose
Canadian Hard Maple neck
North American Alder Body
I've never heard of these pups, but for the price, i'm not gunna argue. Only problem i see with this is the lacking of a neck pup, nevertheless, anyone play one of these babys? Any input?
Here is the guitar
this isn't my first guitar btw, and the type of music i play is all around metal. The lacking of the neck pickup could be wierd for shredding, so i'll just use my other guitars for that, haha.

for 300$ a lacking neck isn't that bad! plus you have a floyd lisenced under the name Kramer.
I can't say if it's a good guitar because I never try it, but it seems to be good for the price!
Maybe someone more experimented here will help you a lot, prolly SOERU will be the best for!

I have owned one of these for about 8 months now and I have to say it is a great guitar for the price. I got mine before they jacked up the price too (i paid $179 for mine new). Even for 300 I'd have to say get it. The pickups are actually not all that bad as well, they're rather high gain so they tend to get a little muddy if you don't watch it. Also, you won't really miss the neck pickup much, if at all. The middle pickup provides a nice warm sound that still has a little bit of bite to it, so it's great for shredding/leads. There were only a few things about mine that I didn't like. So here is a little list of the pros/cons.
pros:
great value, decent pickups, pretty good neck, good finish, came with allen wrenches, decent balance with a strap, ok trem
cons:
needs some adjusting out of the box (string height, intonation), didn't come with trem bar, case is almost ALWAYS out of stock, jack location
The good news is that all of these cons are easily remedied (except for the case, just keep an eye out on e-bay). Just do a 5 minute set-up, get a trem bar, and get a cord with a 90 degree jack and your good to go. If you have any more questions about it, i'd be glad to answer them for you.

The case is really no big deal, amazon.com usually has them in stock. Its good to know the middle pup is warm as well.
as for the bridge though, how does it stay in tune? Like, are we talking terrible schaller licensed style out of tune, or decent close-to-OFR bridge?
And how do you mean muddy if you're not careful? Like, how is the feedback?
and the jack is no big deal, i have a wireless system

The bridge is a 6/10. It stays in tune pretty good even after doing some crazy shit, but don't expect it to last forever. I'd say that you can get 2+ years of heavy use out of it before it starts to wear out, but most of us change stuff out before then anyway. In other words, it's about as good as the jackson licensed trems.
The muddiness only comes into play if your maxing out your gain. If you fine-tune your gain and eq, it'll never happen. Also, the pickups don't feed back unless you make them do it.
If you want some comparisons, this guitar is as good as my ltd m-255 and the jackson KE-3 i use to own.

Well that's sweet then, i was gunna replace the bridge anyway with a kahler trem (i'm more used to them anyway), but if its gunna last a good year all the better. Well, soon as it comes back in stock i'll pick one up, thanks man

I had a Kramer Imperial S-404S(fixed bridge) from the same "series" and it was a pretty good guitar, got it back when they were 150$. Can't go wrong with it really, but the price seems a little steep now, the same guitar used to be around 200$.
