ibanez zr trem

what's the deal with these? i tried to search but didn't really come up with anything. i'm getting rid of the rg350 and moving up into something a nicer, something without that horrible edge pro III. the zr trem looks like it's built like a fucking tank and the idea of bearings in there is pretty awesome. basically any info you can give me about the bridge or comparisons, better or worse, to an edge III would be helpful. either looking at getting an s or maybe something used with an original edge pro. thanks.

I think it's a Japanese made trem, whereas the Edge Pro III is Korean, so build quality will be better.

I think if you search you'll find a page on the Jemsite or Ibanezrules loads of info on it, and the differences.

Yeah, I got a 'S' series ( 520EX ) and just love it! Sold my RG370DX cause i cant keep my hands off this guitar. My wife fuckin hates it!!!!
The ZR, IMHO, is superb. I haven't had to retune mine for ages, they're easy to set up and work on. They even have the tool on board to adjust the intonation.
I removed the stopper thingy to make it a full floating trem. With the bearings it is so fucking smooth, no sloppiness and no movement in the arm before the trem moves. I like it a lot more than my bandmates Jackson's (RR & King V) trems, although they're the liscensed ones. But they're not "cheap" guitars either. Anyway that's my 2 cents, I'm sure others will disagree. Just go and play one, you'll love it!!

thanks for the help dudes. one more question, is the neck as nice as the 24 fret wizard II's? i love the neck on my rg but some people have told me the s neck feels slightly different for whatever reason. theyre both wizards so theoretically they should be the same besides the 23 and 24th frets.

Yeah they feel a little different and the reason is because of those two missing frets. The neck itself feels the same, dimensions wise, but the 24 fret neck is a tad longer and makes it "feel" different. Hope that makes sense?.
I prefer the 22 fret neck myself, but that's one of those personal things.
I should work for Ibanez, 'cause I love this ( S-Series ) guitar and love telling people!! Fair Dinkum, it's beautiful..
