Ampeg SS140 or Trace Elliot SuperTramp
there are two amps for sale near me, both for a reasonable price. the Ampeg SS140 and the Trace Elliot Supertramp. I was wondering what would be the better buy. Consider them both the same price. I've heard a lot of good things about the Ampeg VH140, and the solid state 140 is supposed to sound really similar. Do you think i good get a decent sound out of the SS140, somewhere around the heaviness of Dying Fetus. Would i need a pedal, or would the SS140 have enough gain to do it? I know it would probably make more sense to buy the tube head of the VH140, but im broke as shit and this offer is really good. On the other hand, have any of u heard of the Trace Elliot Super Tramp? It's an 100 watt tube head, i was wondering if this would be a heavy enough amp. What do you think would be the better buy????

nahh thats the thing! my friend lives too far away to go there and come back, to try it. it costs a bunch just to get there. but i think its legit, he doesn't actually play guitar or anything, its from his dads old music store, and he just wants to get rid of it as its collecting dust. i can always take it back.
