Need tips for starting my own guitar
Hey guys, im looking for building my own guitar...i dont want to cut the wood and paint it...I'm a starter i wanna start slowly like buy parts and put them together.
Here is what I want:
-Dinky/Charvel/Ibanez Body, I want a standard form.
-Jackson neck, 24 fret. Do 7 strings neck can be put on every body, or i absolutly need a body made for 7 strings??
And what tools do you suggest me?
Yes, I know what i want will be a jackson, but i want to build it myself, it's cheaper and i want to put my own touch!
Thanks guys to help in advance!

Well, if you want a 7-string, you need to make the neck pocket wide enough to accept the 7-string neck. Other than that, I think the body can remain the same size. I think someone on the Jemsite forum asked for a comparison between an Ibanez 6 and 7-string body, and as far as I remember they were the same size, only the neck pocket width was different.
Also, you might wanna check http://projectguitar.com/ , it seems to have lots of info and a good forum.

That should carry pretty much anything you need for building a guitar. It's got heaps of info too; check out the FAQs for necks and you might find some answers. Good luck.

Yea, for a standard superstrat/rg guitar, the body is the same size for a 6 and a 7, just the pocket is a different size. As Me_himself said, Warmouth is probably your best bet for what you want to do... altough it's not as cheap as you might think! Still will be a good fun project though

Cardboard, a hobby knife, and some rubber bands.
You never asked for it to be good

This is true, and quite annoying, because the width of the 7 string bridge/pickups it pushes the volume pot closer to the pickup selector switch, which decreases access to it.
