Ill Nino
Anyone here like Ill Nino? I saw them awhile back in San Diego with my coworker from ugmd and I heard they have a new album coming out which I'm pumped for since it's been awhile I've heard any news about them. Anyone else a fan?

If Ill Nino is what you consider good metal, this may not be the best metal forum for you.
Well maybe you can learn a bit of good music from us. Check out some Decapitated.

Nu-metal is not to be discussed on this forum.

"Revolution Revolución" was a great album. The Spanish influence in the band kind of sets them apart from the rest of the bands in their genre. They just have that different sound and feel. I got a Demo CD by them maybe 1 year ago, boy did it suck(the latest release from them). These guys really lightened up. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying a band cant still be good without as much aggression in their sound, but these guys just sound better with it. Maybe this newest CD will bring them back to their earlier sound.
If you are inquiring about some of their latest Cd's you need to go back a little to 2001-2003 era and check them out. I honestly can't say except for that one demo is the most recent thing I've heard by them since "Revolution Revolución". That demo really didn't justify the bands Rap-Metal roots, or their Spanish roots. I remember the guitar work being really weak with way to many acoustics, him rarely screaming at all mostly just sounding like a pop-star.

I think they may be more on the side of Rap-Metal. Also if you have never heard them I wouldn't bash them from the get go.

I've heard 'em a few times. I think I may have even seen 'em live once at the annual music festival we have here in town organized by the local rock station. Very plain and boring stuff. When you watch a video they act like they are playing the most incredible toughest shit anyone's ever played on a guitar, when in fact it's simply drop C with one finger power chords all around. The Spanish influence is kinda neat, but not enough to upset the cookie cutter factor about this band. Very plain and generic.

Yeah I saw them years ago supporting machine head on the supercharger tour (must have been 2001). They were pretty lame, and I was quite into that sort of stuff at the time. The only song that stood out was their cover of "roots". To me there was little setting it apart from all the slipknot, soulfly etc buzzing around at the time.
