action differences between fixed and floating bridges

i've decided on getting a fixed bridge on my new rg. i love the way the rg plays i just don't want to deal with the trem anymore (i know it's not that hard). does an rg with a fixed bridge play pretty much like one with a floating trem? any more/less tension?

tension depends on string gauge, scale, and tuning. Bridge has nothing to do with it (unless you count it towards scale). In otherwords, string tension will be the same given you use the same strings, its the same scale, and you're using the same tuning.

Action is the same too, but with fixed bridge guitars you can have the neck itself tilted back on an angle which reduces some complications with action height in regards to warping.

One difference you might find is that depending on the bridge, the strings could be closer together. But if its one of those fender fixedwhammy style bridges, then the string spacing will be the same.

i'm not a big fan of the trem myself.. my RG has a trem, my dinky does not. if it bothers you that much, there is always the tremel-no
