help please

I ve played alot of jacksons and I was thinking of getting on probably the dk2 or what ever the one that comes with jb and the two single coiles but I always found that the alder bodies give off a thin sound and I was woundering what pickups would give me that deep chugging distortion soun. As far as pickups go anything except EMG's I dont like active pickups at all.

Dude, I have a DK-2, not sure what the materials are though, it's a Made in Japan one dunno if it makes a difference...

But I have a Seymour Duncan TB 6 'Distortion' pickup in the bridge and let me tell you, it is a BEAST, perfect for a Jackson aswell! (listen to my bands' recording 'Forced Faith' on the myspace page) for the kind of tone you get (I'm right hand side guitar btw :P )

The DK-2 is also a very very good guitar for the price if you can get it a little cheaper anywhere, otherwise it's just very good value for money :P I would advise getting one, I don't even want another guitar anymore because mine is so perfect!!! (that's after a few re-set ups though!!)

deep chugging eh?

List of ideas:
SD custom --> like a jb, but ceramic magnet (tighter attack) and has the lows and highs boosted a touch which adds alot of warmth, and in turn, chuggyness.

Dimarzio x2n --> output of an emg, passive form. Not as compressed. More bass. Blade style so bends sound realllly good compared to pole style pickups. Chugga chugga man.

Dimarzio tone zone --> lots of output, good for almost any application, quiet as hell. Everybody loves these things.

Dimarzio super distortion --> HOT. Great balanced eq in my opinion. Fairly compressed, but damn does it bite.

I would say that a SD distortion is more of a lead geared pickup. I don't like its tone for rhythms because its kinda thin in comparison to the above, but the leads sound great.

For an alder body, i'd say tone zone or SD custom.
